While my girls napped...
I got to play along with Kristina Werner's latest color challenge! That is always fun! Here is her inspirational piece for this week:
So, we were given Bravo Burgandy, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Old Olive to work with.
This week I was able to make two cards!! Here is the first one:
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!
Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons set; Heard from the Heart set
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, So Safron, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgandy, and Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Ink
Paper: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Bravo Burgandy, and Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Gold brads, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Blender Pens
Here is the second card I did (it's another mini!):
Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Fresh Cuts set
Ink: Bravo Burgandy Classic Stampin' Ink; Versamark
Paper: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White card stock
Other: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Dimesnionals, Sticker from Summer Fun SS Pack
I am patiently waiting for a new box of goodies this afternoon! I used to work as the shipping manager at a hotel so I know what the UPS truck sounds like. I've been hanging out outside with the girls and every time I here a truck like that I get excited! Sad isn't it! I finally just came inside... Lucky though because both of the girls napped today so it was almost like I had the house to myself for a little bit! Hee!
Thanks for checking out my cards! I am off to look at everyone else who posted on Kristina's challenge today!

Sharing some more little goodies!
Today I worked on a color challenge Nicole sent me earlier in the week. I decided to make some more mini cards. The are great because the smaller stamped images really stand out! Here is her inspirational picture:
She challenged me to use Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Blue Bayou, Whisper White, and Kiwi Kiss. I really like this color scheme so you may be seeing it quite a few times this month! Here are my little cards:
A quick thank you card:
I confess, I used the new Pacific Point instead of Brilliant Blue... I just love that color!!
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Live Your Dream set
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss Classic Stampin' Ink
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Whisper White card stock; Summer Picnic DSP
Other: Scallop Edge punch, 1/2" Circle punch, Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Paper Piercer
Here is my 2nd card:
I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed the heart with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged Bashful Blue and Blue Bayou ink around the heart to give it some great color!
Goodies:

Stamps: Always set
Ink: Blue Bayou, Bashful Blue Classic Stampin' Ink; Versamark
Paper: Blue Bayou, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: White Grosgrain ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge punch
And here is my last creation! It is a candy holder!
Again, I used Pacific Point instead of Brilliant Blue. I'll try Brilliant Blue later this week to see which I like better! Hee!
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Eastern Blooms set, Cute and Curly set
Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black Classic Stampin' Ink
Paper: Pacific Point textured card stock; Whisper White, Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss card stock

Anyways, I've been trying to keep busy making things! Hope you all have a good weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

A Quick Color Challenge!
So, after a pretty busy day of hanging out with my girls and my sister and her boys, I decided to kick back and make a card! Since Ms. Kristine was challenging us, I used this as my inspiration:
And here is what I came up with:
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Baroque Motifs set, En Francais
Inks: Versamark; Bravo Burgundy, Rose Red, and Regal Rose classic stampin' ink
Paper: Soft Sky, Bravo Burgundy, Rose Red, Whisper White card stock
Other: Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestone Brads, dimensionals; White brads by American Crafts; Liquid Pearls by Ranger
So, this isn't a color palette I usually use. It was a little tough for me to put this together but over all, I think it is interesting and will make a good sample for my workshops! It definitely won't be up in the top ten this week! Hee!
Anyways, thanks for taking a peek!

A new little one...
This week I've been working on an order for baby announcements! They are so much fun to do! These were simple and sweet, keeping the picture of the beautiful baby the focal point. Isn't she precious!
Goodies:
Stamps: Doodle Flowers set by Inkadinkado
Ink: Basic Brown by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Kraft card stock by Stampin' Up!; chick-a-dee line by SEI; Bazzil Bling card stock
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Dimensionals by Stampin' Up!; gem, unknown
The design is from the June issue of Cards magazine.
I also made this little card this week. I don't make a lot of cards that are not the standard A2 size so I challenged myself to make one smaller. This is 3.5" square. I like how it turned out!
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: A Rose is a Rose set
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Brown, and Creamy Caramel classic stampin' ink; Antique Linen Distress Ink by Ranger
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Others: ribbon by Martha Stewart Crafts, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge punch
I am loving the way the roses turned out! These were distressed by crumpling up and then rubbing the Antique Linen ink over the top. I cut them all out and layered them to give it some dimension.
Well, I haven't been very busy crafting this week! We've had some workers putting new heater/air conditioners in and of course they are working in my little scrapbooking corner! It is a mess because I've had to move some stuff around. Hopefully I'll be able to clean the rest up tonight and get my craft on after the girls go to bed!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

A Happy Little Frog Card
On SCS (Split Coast Stampers) they have all sorts of challenges. They have weekly ones, daily ones, and monthly ones. They challenge you to use certain color combos, sketches, or techniques and so on... The other day, I decided to participate with the WICKED color combo challenge for September. The challenge was to use Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, and Sahara Sand. I was all for making a manly birthday card but ended up with this:
Goodies:
All by Stampin' Up!
Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons set; Sprinkles set; En Francais
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy classic stampin' pads
Paper: Sahara Sand textured card stock; Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Kiwi Kiss card stock
Other: Black Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon; Dimensionals
Certainly not very manly, is it! I do like how it turned out though! I stamped my backgrounds onto the colored card stock first, using the same color ink. I also inked around the edges of each block. Next, I stamped the froggie onto Whisper White card stock with Basic Black ink. I watercolored him using the ink pads. After he was dry, I matted him and stuck him to the card front with dimensionals. I added ribbon and the sentiment and I was done!
Hope you have a great day!

It's Color Challenge Day Again!
Last night while I was uploading some new cards onto SCS, I thought I'd check out some of my favorite blogs including Kristine Werner's. I was so excited when I saw she put up a new color challenge!!
Here is her Inspiration for us:
So, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Rose Red, and Whisper White?? I can't wait to see what everyone else did because this was hard for me! Here is my card:
Goodies
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Sock Monkey set, Polka Dot, A Little Birthday Cheer set
Inks: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Regal Rose
Paper: Pacific Point textured card stock; Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Rose Red card stock, and Sweet Always DSP
Other: Eyelet and Ribbon by American Crafts; Stickles by Ranger; Dimensionals
I started with the Sock Monkey stamp. I've been wanting to piece together one of these since I got it so today I tried! The patterned paper is from the Sweet Always DSP pack. After piecing him together, he needed somewhere to sit so I made him a little paper box. Then I got to work on the back grounds! For some reason, this color scheme was screaming polka dots to me! So, that is what I used! I had some larger ones on the Kiwi piece to start with but it was a little too much so I opted for the cute cupcakes instead. I added a cupcake to the monkey's hand, sprinkled with a little stickles! Over all, not too bad. I can't wait to see what everyone else posts!!
Since you are all into Color Challenges as much as I am, you can understand how sad it is when a card goes bad, only minutes before the deadline... Here was the card I made for Kristine's last challenge, which was a great color scheme- I just messed it up totally!
I had this really great idea to distress the roses so I crumpled them up. Then I realized you really couldn't see the color any more. So, I distressed them a little more with some light ink. Then, they were just brown and you still couldn't see the color any more. Then I thought maybe I could save them with some watercoloring with a darker pink. So, I did, and it was awful. Then, just in case it would hide all the other flaws, I added some crystal effects- I was going for that morning dew look... it looked like snot! Poor little rose card!
Well, a few days later, I re stamped and cut out all the flowers again. This time I left them plain! Here is the redone card:
What can you do, right? At least I can still use it as a great sample of some two step stamping! Hee!
Thanks for looking!

Crazy for Cupcakes Card
I thought I'd post a card I created last night. I was so excited when I saw this set in the new catalog- who doesn't like cupcakes! I ordered at the beginning of August and finally used it yesterday! I took the colors from the Sweet Always DSP and the design is courtesy of the September WICKED challenge on SCS- here it is:
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set
Inks: Basic Brown, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, Apricot Appeal, Regal Rose Classic Stampin' Pad
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White card stock; Sweet DSP
Other: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals
I Paper pieced the cupcake together by stamping it 3 times- once on the patterned paper, once on Apricot Appeal card stock, and once on Whisper White card stock. I cut the candle out of the Whisper White image and watercolored the flame with Apricot Appeal ink. I cut out the frosting from the Apricot Appeal card stock and inked around the edges softly with Pumpkin Pie ink. I colored in the sprinkles with Chocolate Chip ink and Regal Rose ink and then added Dazzling Diamonds over the top. Last, I cut out the cup cake wrapper from the patterned paper and inked the edges with Pink Pirouette ink. Paper piecing is a great way to add dimension to a project!
I wanted to share a picture of my sweet Natalie today, too! She is getting so big! I snapped these as I was taking pictures of my cards today:
Hope you have a great day! Thanks for peeking at my blog!
