Pretty Flowering Tree Card

Today I am sharing a card using what may be my favorite stamp set of all time! It is The Season of Friendship set by Stampin' Up! that was in the Holiday Mini last fall... I am really hoping we will see it in the next catalog release! I can think of sooo many cute ideas with it!

This card is also my submission to Dawn McVey's latest Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. This week Dawn challenged us with this:

And, here is what I made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Season of Friendship set, Full of Life set
Ink: Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip Classic inks
Paper: Taken with Teal, Whisper White cardstock; Certainly Celery textured cardstock
Accessories: Piercing tool, Chocolate Chip Marker, Scallop Edge punch, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Dimensionals, Decor Elements Applicator

I started out stamping the tree and the leaves onto my card front. I stamped the flowers, using 2nd generation stamping for the lighter ones, and cut them out. I adhered them to the card using Dimensionals. Next, I did my faux stitching around the edge of the card front with my paper piercer and a Chocolate Chip marker. I distressed the edges using my Decor Elements Applicator. It does a great job at this! It bends the edges just right! Next, I punched the edge of the Certainly Celery strip of paper and crumpled it. I added a torn strip of Taken with Teal paper and adhered it to the card front. I added the Chocolate Chip ribbon at the bottom, stamped my sentiment, and adhered the whole thing onto the Taken with Teal card base.

Taken with Teal is one of those colors that I only get out for a color challenge. I really like how it looks though! Maybe I'll try it out on a few more cards...

Thanks for taking a look today! Hope you all enjoy your afternoon. It's still a little chilly here but I'm hoping it will warm up so I can take my girls outside to play!

Eastern Blooms Bouquet Card

Today's card was inspired by Kristina Werner's latest Color Inspiration Challenge! I have the best time participating in these! Here is what she challenged us with this week:

And, here is my card! I used the Eastern Blooms set to build a nice bunch of flowers:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Eastern Blooms set, Full of Life set
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron Classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango cardstock
Accessories: So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals, Piercing tool, Chocolate Chip Marker, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Crystal Effects

I hand cut all of the flowers after stamping a bunch of them on Whisper White cardstock. Next, I stamped the branch images onto the Whisper White Square and started to build my bouquet! I used pop dots to pop some of the flowers up. I also curled the edges of the flowers with a pencil to give it a softer look. After they were all placed, I stamped my sentiment and added Dazzling Diamonds using Crystal Effects. I added the ribbon and stuck it to the cardstock base, creating a 5.5" Square card!

Hope you are having a great day! I am expecting some new stamps in the mail from the new occasions mini catty so hopefully I'll have time to play this afternoon!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Some Watercoloring...

Today I made this card instead of cleaning the house. It was rainy outside and my mood was kind of blah so I created something sweet and cute instead! This little girl with her kitties reminds me so much of my Zoey! She loves kitties and desperately wanted to help me paint this today. I stamped a few for her to paint, too but she folded them up and stuck them in an envelope for her friends before I could get a picture to show you!

Here is mine though:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: A Kind Word set
Ink: Staz On; Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss, Apricot Appeal Blush Blossom, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue Classic Inks
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette cardstock; watercolor paper; Candy Lane DSP
Accessories: Kraft taffeta ribbon, Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8 Circle punch, Aqua Painter, Fire Circle Rhinestone brads, Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers

OK- keepin' it short today since AI is on! Hee!

Sympathy Card

Today I had a little extra time during Natalie's nap to do some stamping. It's good because I actually needed to make this card. A good friend of my moms lost her husband in a tragic accident over the weekend and I wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to her. It is weird, I think (luckily) that this is the first sympathy card I've ever made. Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks set, Thoughts and Prayers set
Ink: Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron Classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand cardstock; Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Curly Label punch, So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon, Fire Rhinestone Circle brads, Dimensionals, Signo White Gel pen, Piercing tool

I paired the flowers from Heartfelt Thanks set with the sentiments from Thoughts and Prayers set. I love these flowers, even though I rarely use them! They are so easy and always look great on paper. The colors come from the Sweet Slumber DSP- which I also love! I sanded down the background polkadots to give it some texture and distress it a little. The ruffle was created using this great tutorial I found at Leah Killian's blog today... with out the sewing! My sewing machine is in need of a tune up so the only kind of sewing I do is the faux sewing, seen here around the edge of the card! Hee!

Anyways, today has been sort of weird with lots of little things popping up. I am going to sit back and relax tonight and watch American Idol and Lost! Hope you have a great evening!

Pretty Pears in a Row

We've been outside enjoying the sunshine this morning and now that it is nap time, I have a little minute to post a quick card! Today's card is inspired by a new color challenge on Dawn McVey's blog! Her stuff is so fresh and cute and I love the colors she picked! Here they are:

And here is the card I made!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Cheep Talk set; Cute and Curly set
Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Chocolate Chip classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Chocolate Chip cardstock; Sweet Always DSP
Accessories: Curly Label punch, Scallop Edge punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig

I definitely couldn't have gotten these little pears stamped straight without my Stamp-a-ma-jig! It is a must have for projects like this. I've been wanting to use this little pear stamp since I got it last month- I finally found the right project for it! I added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the center of each pear for a little more sparkle.

Hope you are all out enjoying your day! Thanks for stopping by!

A Pair of Butterflies Card

Today I'm sharing the first of Five cards I'll be teaching in an upcoming class. I will be featuring the Simple Friendship set by Stampin' Up! Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Simple Friendship set
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, and Basic Black Classic inks
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose cardstock
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Scallop Edge punch, Dimensionals

I love using the color kissing technique on this butterfly stamp! It looks so pretty with just a touch of another color on it's wings! I kept everything else pretty simple so that these friendly little butterflies would stand out.

I've got plans to make a few cards today so hopefully I'll have lots to share this week!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Flowers for a Friend card

Hello! Today I wanted to share a couple of quick cards I made last night! I crop almost every weekend at my friend Dawnette's house and always have so much fun! Last night, our friend Brenda was also there and needed to come up with a baby card... I've been dying to make one of these cuties for soo long and finally had a chance! She loved it! Here is what we made:

Goodies:

Paper: Bazzill Basics, Stampin' Up!
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 5/8 Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch by Stampin' Up!; Star is from the George Cricut Cartridge.

I also made this last night:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Petal Pizazz set, Hope Happens set
Ink: Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa Classic inks; Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White cardstock; Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP
Accessories: Top Note Sizzix Die, So Saffron Wide Grosgrain Ribbon, Pewter Build-a-Brads, Fire Circle Rhinestone brads, Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers, White embossing powder

I stamped and hand cut the flowers. Then I inked up the edges of my diecut and patterned paper. I added the ribbon and brads to the flowers. Next I stamped the quote on the diecut with Versamark and added white embossing powder. After I heat set it, I placed my flowers using dimensionals. The Petal Pizazz set is so easy to use! A few flowers with the right placement makes for an easy card!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend! I had a great one!

Thanks for stopping by~

A Scottie Dog with Flowers

Today I'm posting my submission to Kristina Werner's latest Color Inspiration Challenge! If you have time today, play along! I loved the colors this week:

I really wanted to use my new Man's Best Friend set by Stampin' Up! and had plans of stamping this little guy and making an argyle background for him. The argyles I tried just didn't work! So he got some flowers instead! My favorite part is that I got to use my pretty flocking by DoodleBug finally! Stampin' Up!'s Heat and Stick Powder worked like a charm... the best product that I have found with flocking so far! Here is the little card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Man's Best Friend set; Eastern Blooms set; Polkadot background
Ink: Versamark; Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Regal Rose Classic inks
Paper: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, and Whisper White cardstock; Bashful Blue textured cardstock; Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP
Accessories: Clear embossing powder, White embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Fire Circle Rhinestone Brads, Black Brads, Valet Ribbon Originals, Dimensionals, Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Heat and Stick Powder, Crystal Effects; Flocking by DoodleBug

If you haven't used flocking before, it is very easy! I stamped my image in Versamark and then covered it with Heat and Stick powder. I heated it up and then shook some flocking onto it. After tapping the excess off, I heated it a second time to lock in the Flocking and that was it! Fuzziness completed! Hee! I'm going to try this with some Easter stamps I have, too! How cute would a fuzzy little Chickie be!

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm off to my friend Dawnette's house tonight for some crop time. I've got a list of ideas I want to try so hopefully I'll have lots to share, soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sock Monkey Makes Me Smile!

Making cards with the Sock Monkey set by Stampin' Up! always makes me smile! I made this card for a workshop I had last weekend at my friend Andrea's house- she's a fan of Sock Monkey, too! Here he is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sock Monkey set
Ink: Jet Black Staz On; Creamy Caramel, So Saffron, Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, and Chocolate Chip classic inks
Paper: Baja Breeze, Confetti, Kraft, Riding Hood Red card stock; Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP
Accessories: So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Round Tab punch, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals

Watercoloring this little guy is always fun and quick to watercolor! Because of his childlike nature, you don't have to make it perfect and I think the little imperfections make him even more charming! It is a great set to start out with, unless, of course, you are afraid of monkeys, which is a little more common then I thought! Hee!

Hope you all have a great weekend! I am planning some crop time tomorrow night so hopefully I'll have some cute cards to show you on Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Springtime Cards

I love the color scheme of the Chloe's Closet line by Making Memories! Pretty oranges, yellows, greens and blues... so springlike! Here are a couple cards I made yesterday with it:

Goodies:

Stamps: Simple Friendship set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: So Saffron Classic ink by Stampin' Up!; Tangerine Chalk Ink by Colorbox
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock by Stampin' Up!; Textured card stock by Bazzill; Chloe's Closet patterned paper by Making Memories
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch by Fiskars; White Brads by American Crafts; White Signo Gel Pen; Stickles and Perfect Pearls by Ranger; Piercing tool, So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, peircing tool. Dimesionals by Stampin' Up!

Does anyone else think it's weird that Making Memories is only selling this line at Michaels? I think there are a few lines like that at Target, too. I wish we could get it at the LSS by the sheet! I'd buy even more! Hee! And, I could use it for classes, too!

Hope you have a great day! The girls and I are baking Chocolate Chip cookies and hopefully playing outside a little. I am hoping it doesn't rain on us too much today!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Shabby Little Bird Card

Hi! After a busy weekend, I'm finally getting a chance to relax and blog a little! I made this card at my friend Dawnette's house on Saturday night- I love how this little guy turned out!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Friends 24-7 set; En Francais background set
Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie Classic inks

Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Kraft taffeta ribbon, White Signo Gel pen, Aqua Painter, Piercing Tool, Sponge Daubers,Dimensionals; scrap of blue lace- Fancy Pants

I finally tried rouching my ribbon! I loved how it turned out and I think it looks great on this card! I stamped my bird in different colors by using the markers to fill in directly on the stamp. The flowers are watercolored and then cut out by hand. I inked around the edges of the DSP with a sponge dauber and some Chocolate Chip ink just to distress it a little.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope all of you have a great week!

Lil' Fox

Today is another sunny day in my neck of the woods! We just came in from a few hours of sunshine and I thought I'd sit down and blog real quick... Today's card is for Kristen! How cute is this little guy:

Friendly Flowers

Today I have two more cards to share featuring the Simple Friendship set by Stampin' Up! I've been playing with it recently because I have a class coming up using it! I want to show everyone some fun, different ways to use this set! So here is what I made last night:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Simple Friendship set
Ink: Versamark; Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron Classic inks
Paper: Regal Rose, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Whisper White card stock; Delicate Dots DSP
Accessories: White embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

I embossed the flowers and then cut them out by hand... not sure if a class full of ladies is going to want to do this! I'll probably come up with something a little simpler...

Here is the next card I made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Simple Friendship set
Ink: Versamark, Close to Cocoa Classic ink
Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose card stock; Candy Lane DSP
Accessories: Kraft tafetta ribbon; White embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

I heat embossed two flowers and cut them out. I cut 1/2 the petals off of the second flower and popped it up on top of the first, creating a 3-D flower. This card is 3.5" Square. The size really lets the stamped images stand out!

Anyways, hope you are having a great day!

Beautiful Blue Butterfly

I've been a card making fool today so I thought I'd pop on and share another that I made. Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Simple Friendship set
Ink: Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, chocolate Chip classic inks
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Kraft card stock; Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Edge punch, Top Note die, Piercing tool, Dimensionals, Sponges

My friend Ashley let me borrow her Top Note die for the Sizzix on Saturday and I love it! It may just end up on my next order! I don't have the Sizzix Big Shot yet and have been holding out for it because I already have a Cricut machine. The dies for the Big Shot just keep getting better though! I think I'll be spending some money soon! Hee!

I did a little distressing with sponges around the edges of my papers. I also added a little glitz with the Dazzling Diamonds on the little butterfly's wings. I am loving how it turned out!

Hope you are having a great day!

-tessa

Spring is in the air!

I am in the mood for spring! The sun has been shining here where I live so I've had the windows open letting the breeze blow in! Last night when I was stamping, I guess I was thinking spring, too. Here is what I created:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Simple Friendship set; Hope Happens set; Polka Dot background
Ink: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa classic inks
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Baja Breeze card stock; Delicate Dots DSP
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Corner Rounder punch, Sponge Daubers

I added some Dazzling Diamonds to this little butterfly's wings. I love the sparkle it gives in the light! The colors are so spring-like and fresh... I added a little texture by tearing some of the edges, crumpling some of the pieces, and inking around the edges of the sentiment and background pieces. I also got out my sanding block and used it on the green DSP piece.

Hope the weather is nice where you are! I'll be spending the afternoon outside with my girls if I can help it! Hee!

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Quickest Card Ever...

Kristina Werner posted a new Color Inspiration Challenge on her blog this week and for the first time this year, I can play along!! For those of you who have cropped with me, you know how long it takes me to make a card! I can work all night on one and still not quite be done with it, right? Well, this card took me less then 10 minutes from start to finish... it feels like a cheat or something! I owe it to the ease of the stamp set I used... Fifth Avenue Floral by Stampin' Up! For those of you who are looking for simple, one layer cards, this has to be part of your stash...

Here is Kristina's challenge for us:

Pretty, right? One of my favorite color schemes. Here is the card I made with her inspiration in mind:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral set
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette card stock
Accessories: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon

I tell you, it's as easy as it looks! Just cut your card stock to size, stamp a couple of flowers and the sentiment, add ribbon and you are set! I love that it was soooo simple!! It still feels like a cheat though...

Anyways, thanks for stopping by! Hope you are all gearing up for a great weekend! I'll be teaching and cropping down at Scrapdoodles tomorrow so I'll be having fun!

Some March Birthday Cards...

I have so many card deadlines coming up... birthdays, classes, workshops... it's getting a little crazy! Luckily, yesterday I was able to get these two birthday cards out of the way. I couldn't resist this Making Memories paper line from Michaels...

Enjoying my new goodies...

I finally got my first big order of Stampin' Up! goodies in the mail yesterday!! Of course, I broke them out as soon as I got them unpacked! Hee! I am loving the new textured DSP. It is really nice! The texture is like Crate Paper, for those of you who know that brand... it just adds a little something extra! Here is my first card using my new goodies:

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: A Kind Word set; Hope Happens set
Ink: Jet Black Staz On; Ruby Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa and Kiwi Kiss Classic inks (used to watercolor)
Paper: Watercolor paper; Ruby Red, So Saffron, Baja Breeze card stock; Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP
Accessories: So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, piercing tool, White Signo gel pen, Aqua Painters, Filigree brads, Circle Rhinestone brads in Fire, dimesionals

The little girls in this set remind me of my little girls. They love kitties and the curls on this girl remind me of Little Natalie- that's why I made her a red head! Here is a picture of the girls from yesterday... they were playing dress up!

I can't wait to play with some more new goodies during nap time today! I am hoping to break out another set and get stamping! I'll try to share what I make tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Glimmery Background Card...

Last night I got to play around with some new products I picked up down at Scrapdoodles over the weekend! New stuff is always the best!! I wanted to try to mess around with some of the new Glimmer Mists from Tattered Angels... My favorite thing to do so far is make glimmery backgrounds! Here is a card I made using glossy white cardstock and Sherbet colored Glimmer Mist:

I don't think the picture does this card justice... it is so sparkly and pretty in real life! I am planning on teaching this technique in my April Cards class down at the store. I hope some of you can make it!

Hope you are having a great day! We are off to Target to pick up my daughter Zoey's latest obsession... Beverly Hills Chihuahua! We saw it together in the theater and she's been waiting for it to come out on DVD ever since! I guess it could be worse...

Thanks for stopping by!
