A St. Patty's Day Treat for SRM

Hi!  I'm busy getting ready for the Doodle Crew Retreat this weekend today!  I can't wait to see all my crafty friends and stay up late all weekend crafting!  It's so much fun!!

I thought I'd take a break from packing and pop on to share a treat I made for St. Patrick's Day- it's also being shared on the SRM Blog today:

These medium sized Clear Purse Boxes are so fun to fill up!  I wanted it to look like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow so I filled it with some gold covered chocolates and Skittles :)  After it was full of goodies, I started decorating the front.  I went with a fun little cluster of green and gold embellishment on the left side of the handle.

I placed a strip of green patterned paper cut into a banner shape first.  Next, I pulled a green label sticker from the Labels By The Dozen/Christmas Sticker Sheet to use as my next layer.  Once it was down, I added some green zig zag sticker stitches from the Sticker Stitches/Christmas Sticker Sheet over the banners.
I pulled out the Life is Good Stamp Set by Jane's Doodles next, stamping out the tag and heart.  I cut around it and punched a hole through the top.  I tied a bit of Pea Pod Baker's Twine around the top and finished in a bow.  I also added the Good Luck sentiment from the Sentiment/Thinking of You Sticker Sheet.  I added the tag to the purse along with some gold sequins to finish off the look:

Who wouldn't want a rainbow candy treat on St. Patrick's Day? :)

Thanks for stopping by today!!

A Watercolored Rainbow for Paper Sweeties

Good morning!  I'm off to a bit of a late start thanks to the weather- school is still not starting on time but at least they are having it!  I'm feeling a bit cooped up after the last week and a half of cold :)

With the cold though came some springtime inspiration!  Yes, I'm dreaming of sunshine and flowers and rainbows!!  I pulled out some of my springtime favorites from Paper Sweeties and created a fun watercolored card:

The Rainbow and Roses Stamp Set has the cutest sentiments and rainbow image!  I stamped out the rainbow and a few clouds with Staz On ink onto watercolor paper and painted them with a rainbow of dye inks.  Once they were dry, I cut them out.  I diecut a background panel using a journaling card die and watercolor paper as well.  I used my favorite sky blue Copic marker to color it.

I put everything together and added a sprinkling of sequins from the Sweet{heart} Special Edition Sequins Pack- I love the iridescent and red/pink combo in this pack!

I thought it would be fun to add just one more element to this card and pulled out the umbrella stamp and die from the adorable Showering You With Love Set.  Don't these sets just belong together? :)

The umbrella was watercolored and then cut out using the matching die.  I love it when sets have matching dies and this was especially nice since I was using the heavy watercolor paper!  I added the umbrella towards the bottom on an angle.  It tells more of a story with the umbrella included.

Debbie was kind enough to feature this project on the Paper Sweeties blog today!  Thanks so much Debbie!  I had so much fun playing with my Paper Sweeties stamps!  They really brightened my day :)

You Rock Card

Hello!
I'm popping on today to share a card I made for the current Freshly Made Sketch Challenge:

I got some new Stampin' Up! goodies recently and was excited to use this one- it's called You Rock:

I stamped the rocker out with Staz On ink on watercolor paper.  I colored it with my Bermuda Bay ink pad.  I fussy cut around it and set it aside.  The background panel is also watercolor paper.  I sponged Calypso Coral ink over it and then splattered it with water to give it a splattered look.  I added the background panel onto my Sahara Sand card base and then stamped the sentiment.   I added the strip of gold striped vellum on the bottom.  The thread was added next and pinned down with the rocker which was adhered with dimensionals.  I added just a few sequins to finish off the look:

I always love playing along with Freshly Made Sketches!  I'm glad I had time- this sketch was so cute!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wish Big Card

Hi!  Having a good weekend?  It's snowing here again... I'm glad I'm here at home, cozy and warm!
I pulled out some Lawn Fawn goodies last night and made a card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge

I have had the Critters in the Arctic set for awhile but haven't gotten to play with it yet!  I stamped out the moose and the ideas started to flow:

I used the banner and sentiment from the Birthday Tags stamp set.  The balloons are from the Hello Sunshine stamp set.  Everything is colored with Copic markers.  I added a few sequins for a little sparkle :)

This card was just plain fun to make!  :)  Hope you have a great day!

Hey Foxy Card

Hi!  How's your day going?  I am having a great day!  We had an extra busy long weekend packed with fun things and then today we have a snow day!!  It is just what I needed- I'm all caught up on my emails and projects and now I get to play! :)

My girlfriends came over yesterday for a crafty get together- we had fun chatting about crafty stuff and playing with each other's stamps!  I was determined to make a card for a challenge that I haven't gotten to play along with yet and tried and tried while they were here to get it done... I was having so much fun chatting that it didn't get done until after they left- and with a set of my own lol!  Here's my card:

I was inspired by the latest MFT Color Challenge :)  I used the Cute Critters set and decided to keep the layout simple since the stamps are pretty big.  I stamped and cut out the fox and stump then paper pieced the red patterned paper onto the fox.  I added just a bit of glossy accents to his nose :)

I'm going to try to make more time for fun posts over the next few weeks so I can play along with some more new-to-me challenges!  Do you have a favorite or new fun challenge to share?  Let me know! :)

A Valentine's Treat Box

I thought I better share this since Valentine's Day is tomorrow!  lol!  We are actually celebrating today- both my hubby and I have Fridays off so we are going out on a fun lunch date while the kids are at school!

I made this treat for SRM Stickers.  It features one of their new clear takeout boxes- I think they are so cute!!

After stuffing the take out box with gummy conversation hearts, I closed the top up and wrapped a bit of solid Pink Sorbet Twine around the handle.  I know it won't pop open but I do have two little girls here... I am hoping the fact that the bow is there will stop them from sampling the candy!

I picked two sticker sheets out of my stash to use on this: We've Got Your Border/Valentine's and Quick Cards/Love.  I added the circles border first, along the top edge of the box.  I added the black zig zag border sticker over the top of the circles.

I cut a tag out of vellum and added the {love} sticker to it.  I stuck the heart in a circle down on a small white Scalloped Punched Piece and layered it over the vellum tag.

I added a simple heart sticker and sequin to finish off the details.  Easy and fun!  The colors of the border stickers are the perfect shades to go along with my candies too!

Hope you have a great Valentine's Day and President's Day weekend!!

Desert Flowers Card

Hi!

Waffle Flower Crafts posted their latest Inspirational Photo Challenge on Monday and I was so inspired by the colors!  I had the challenge in mind when I made this card:

I stamped the large flower image from the Potted Stamp Set on to watercolor paper with Staz On ink.  I used the residual inks from a few pretty Stampin' Up! ink pads to paint the image in.  I kept the paint light for a soft look.

I cut the panel into a 4.25x4.25 square and mounted it onto a kraft card base.  I stamped the border at the bottom of the panel from Pattern Play Stamp Set using the same navy ink I painted with above.

I have been in need of cards without sentiments lately so I decided not to stamp on on this.

Pop over to Waffle Flower Crafts to check out the inspiration!  :)

One in a Million Valentine's Treat Bags

Hello!  I have been off the radar for a few days haven't I?  Not on purpose :)  January was pretty busy and it's looking like February will be too!  My crafty time has been cut down a little and I guess it shows...

I'm glad I have time to share this morning- I have a fun project up on the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog as part of their Silly Valentine's Week!  I was inspired by my daughters' love for glow-in-the-dark stars to create Valentine's Day treats featuring them for their friends:

I split a large package of stars up for 3 treat bags.  I packaged them up in some embossed vellum bags from SRM:

Then I created the tags, using the Surface- Tag Die- Starters Kit and Starry Night Stamp Set from Waffle Flower Crafts:

I created a video to show how I made the galaxy background:

I am trying to do more videos this year.  I learn something new every time I make one!  This time I learned that the craft mat makes an awful background.  Sorry!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  Don't forget to pop over to the Waffle Flower Blog to see all the fun Valentine's projects the team made this week!
