Hello! I have been swimming in a to do list over the last few weeks and finally found the end of it today!! It's so nice to be on top of things again! :) With my to do list in check, I had time for a little fun!!
I was so inspired by last week's Project Runway episode- the one with the rainway! Did you see it? I absolutely loved the winning looks! I have been wanting to make a card based on Sean's dyed dress since it aired- I'm so glad I had time today! Here is my card:
I created the watercolored background by punching circles out of tissue paper and watercoloring them with pink, orange, and yellow inks. I let them dry and then mod-podged them onto a piece of white cardstock. I love the way it turned out! The circles remind me of the circle skirt on the winning look! I also used the same dye colors Sean chose :)
I wanted a bold sentiment and pulled out this beautiful scripty one from the Make A Wish set by Mama Elephant. I stamped it in black and added a few stars from the set to accent it. The rest of the card was kept simple-a bit of black and white patterned paper at the bottom of a white card base and a little twine along the bottom of my focal panel. I'm so happy with how it turned out!
Many people have looked at this and asked if it was a stamp set I used for the background- maybe one of my stamp designing friends will do a watercolor bubble stamp set for me?? Please? :) Hee! That would be pretty cool!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I can't wait to see what tonights episode inspires!
You do amazing work and I am very impressed! I love Project Runway and your take on it!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Tessa! Amazing commitment to watercolour all those tissue paper circles and then adhere them! BTW I think this could qualify for my challenge if you want to link it up! *wink*
ReplyDeletePS: Dawn from WPlus9 created a similar background with stamping, so might be worth checking that out too! :-)
This is super pretty! I love that background!
ReplyDeleteThose tissue paper circles are awesome! LOVE this!!!
