The Right Pair of Boots Card

I'm so excited and nervous today!! Our cards go live for the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol Contest at noon mountain time... stop by and vote for your favorite here!

Our challenge for this round was to use a household item somewhere on our card... that means something you would find and use around the house. There is so many cute products in my LSS that would fit in this category! I ended up making four cards and had the hardest time choosing which one to submit! I'll share the runners up later this week but first, let me show you the one I chose...

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Stamps: Scene from the Garden set, Fifth Avenue Floral set
Ink: Dusty Durango, Creamy Caramel, Baja Breeze, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou Classic inks; Jet Black StazOn
PaperL Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Dusty Durango cardstock; cardstock by Bazzill, Patterned paper by Pink Paislee
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, Aqua Painter, Paper Piercer, White Signo Gel pen, Stampin' sponges, Dimensionals

I ended up choosing this one because it was my favorite out of the bunch. I love the watercolored boots all in a row with the one pair standing out... and, I loved the quote! I had a hard time deciding if boots really were a household item and for me, they are. Growing up, they were a necessity... I lived in a small town near Seattle, WA and we had cows... I still see them every day around my house- just in smaller sizes! Hee!

The other cards I made might have fit the theme a little better but this one was still my favorite. I hope you like it, too!

Thanks for taking a peek today and don't forget to go vote at Paper Crafts!

Glittery Green Rubber Boots Card

Hi! I thought I'd post a card this afternoon so I could play along with Kristina Werner's latest color challenge! The colors she chose are some of my favorites! Here is her inspiration for us:

And, here is what I made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Scene From a Garden set
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Ink; Jet Black Staz On
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Confetti White cardstock
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Crystal Effects, Aqua Painter, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals

I love seeing these rubber boots all lined up! I thought it would be fun to create a card with fun funky boots that stood out among the rest... and, I thought the sentiment stamp worked perfectly!

I stamped the boots first, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to create a straight line. Next, I watercolored them all using residual ink from my Chocolate Chip ink pad. Then, I stamped a pair of boots on to Kiwi Kiss cardstock and added Crystal Effects for gloss, and Dazzling Diamonds for glitter! When it dried, I added it to my card front, using dimensionals so they really stand out. I stamped my sentiment and added ribbon and there you go! Quick and cute!

Anyways, hope you are all having a lovely day! Hee!

New Stamps!

Don't you just love new stamps! I got to play with a couple of new sets over the weekend, one being the Scene From a Garden set out of the new SU! mini catty! When I saw it, I knew I wanted it... even just for the little rubber boots stamp! Here is a card I made with it this weekend:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Scene From a Garden set
Ink: Jet Black StazOn; Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Ruby Red, Real Rust, More Mustard Classic inks; Whisper White Craft ink
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive cardstock; Tangerine Tango textured cardstock, patterned paper by Crate Paper
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Paper Piercer, White Signo Gel pen, Photo Corner punch, Dimensionals; ribbon by American Crafts

I watercolored the entire image after using my handy dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig to place all my pieces...

I ended up cropping on Friday down at my LSS and Saturday at my friend Dawnette's house and actually got a few cards done! I should have lots to share this week! One thing I didn't get to do was head into DC to see the Cherry Blossoms... I have a bit of a cold and it has travelled to both girls so we decided to take it easy yesterday. Poop though! I really wanted to go this year!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping in for a peek!
