Smile! A card for Watch It Wednesday!

Hello!  I have a Watch It Wednesday video up on the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog today!  Pop over there to check it out- I went with a fun, imperfect, mixed media look. :)

My card features the Doily Circle Stamp Set and the small tag from Surface- Tag Die- Starter Kit.  I love it when I get to play with my distress paints!  Here's a closer look:

Be sure to pop over to the Waffle Flower Blog to see this technique in action!  It is pretty easy and not too messy either!  A great way to jump into the mixed media look :)

Thanks for stopping by here today!

Joy to the World Card

Good Morning!  I'm excited to be posting my first card for Waffle Flower Crafts today!  With Christmas right around the corner, I thought a holiday card would be perfect.  I pulled out the Holiday Labels- Merry stamp set as inspiration and created this:

I had it in my mind to create a collage card and started by stamping the snowflakes in different shades of pink along the left and bottom side of the white card base.  I love pink and green together so next, I pulled out a green mist and splattered it over the same area.  I set it aside to dry and started with the other layers.

Tags make a great layer when creating collage cards.  I stamped the polka-dot tag from Surface-Tag stamp set with a bright pink ink and diecut it using the coordinating Surface- Tag Die- Starter Kit die set.  I also stamped my sentiment with green ink and diecut it using the Holiday Label-1 Die.

I pulled some gold striped vellum and a bit of green patterned paper from my stash to also use as layers and got to work building my card.  I layered them on top of each other, adhering as I went.  The tag layers were added using dimensional foam dots which adds to the layered look.  I finished it off with a bit of gold sequin trim for some sparkle :)

I think layered collage cards might be my favorite kind to make.  It's fun to start out messy and include many different elements into one card.

Thanks for popping by today!
