Grin And Bear It Birthday Card

Hi!  Today is Thursday??  We started the week with a couple of snow days and this is the first day I'm feeling back on schedule.  It still feels like a Monday though! lol!

I have a cute Newton's Nook Designs card for you today- this one uses the cute new Winston's Birthday set:

Bear It Birthday Card 1

I paired Winston with the adorable Into The Woods patterned papers by Lawn Fawn.  I stamped Winston on a diecut journaling card and colored him with Copic markers.  I put two of the sentiments together and stamped them with black ink.  The balloon is paper pieced and added to the card with a foam adhesive dot.   Before I added the journaling card to my card front, I stamped a row of presents over the orange strip of patterned paper and tied a bit of twine in a bow for accent.

I just love Winston!  He makes birthday cards easy to create- I could even use this for a male! :)  In fact, I made this one with a male in mind- today is my stepdad's birthday!  Happy Birthday Bill!

OK!  Hope you have a great day!

Fun Fall Cards

Hello!  I'm guest designing over on the Scrapdoodle blog today and thought I'd share my cards here, too!  I chose two cute stamp sets from Darcie's Heart and Home and some adorable patterned papers from Lawn Fawn to create these cards:

This first one uses the Pile of Fun stamp set:

I love this image!  Darcie's Heart and Home gives you so many options- cling rubber or clear acrylic in each of the sets we have at the store.  They also added pigtails to the set so you can make it a boy or a girl- isn't that clever! I made mine a little girl and had so much fun coloring her.  I used my colored pencils and really love how easy they are to blend.  If you have trouble with Copics, these are another great option for coloring!

I chose the Plenty of Fun set for my second card:

Isn't this little turkey cute?  I couldn't walk out of the store without him! lol!  I used colored pencils again to color the image- they worked great on the kraft cardstock.  I chose colors that would go along with the patterned papers from the Into the Woods collection from Lawn Fawn.  Using your patterned papers as inspiration for your colors is a great place to start if you are having a hard time.

I had so much fun stamping with the adorable sets by Darcie's Heart and Home.  I think I'll stop by the store and pick out a couple images for wintertime, too!

Thanks for popping by the blog today!

I Love New Goodies!

Hi there!  It's Friday!  And a four day weekend for us!  And I got lots of new goodies down at my favorite local store, Scrapdoodles this week!!  It's a pretty good day around here- I'll even have time to make something! :)

I created a simple card with some of my new goodies yesterday.  I picked up quite a few of the fall and winter collections by Lawn Fawn, including some of their new dies!  Here is what I made using the new stitched journaling card and leaves dies:

I started with an Island Indigo card base.  I added the patterned paper next- this one is from the Into The Woods 6x6 pad by Lawn Fawn.  It's matted in Pear Pizazz cardstock.  I diecut my journaling block out of Crumb Cake cardstock and then diecut the leaf from the center.  Next, I stamped the sentiment and colored in the heart with some Pumpkin Pie ink.  I created a confetti pocket behind it using Lawn Fawn's adorable sequins pack and some vellum.

The sequins are really fun!  I love the mix of shapes, colors, and finishes.  Once my confetti pocket was finished, I tied some twine around the card and adhered it to my card front using Dimensionals.

This was a fun one to make!  I'm thinking about all the things these dies can be used for and they are definitely something you need in your collection!  :)  I love them!

Well, since my kiddos are busy playing this morning, I'm going to get started on another project!  I am so glad for this weekend!!
