Happy Monday!
Over the weekend, a new sketch went up at Inspired Blueprints! It's a fun one, too! For this layout, I used some photos from my last trip to New York City- I went up last July with my mother-in-law:
I've been to New York a few times since we've moved to the East Coast but this was Cindy's first time visiting! We had a great time playing tourists in the big city!
I used papers from the Urban Traveler line by Simple Stories. I painted over the background with gesso before I added my embellishments and photos. I love these thickers! Silver, glittery, foam thickers might just be my favorite!
I'm glad I got to scrapbook these photos because the day is so memorable-- thanks to another great sketch by Lis! To see what the other design team members did with the sketch, pop over to the Inspired Blueprints blog! They really worked their magic with this one!
Well, enjoy your day!

DC Tourist Layout
Living in the DC metro area, we head up to the city quite often to check out the sites! I have my favorite places I like to take people and there are also so many places I still want to visit. For this layout, I used pictures from last summer when I took my inlaws and nephews to check out a few places. We went to the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence and to the Old Post Office. The Post Office is one of my favorites because you can go up to the top of the tower- there is a great view of the monuments and National Capitol building.
I used the He Said She Said line by Teresa Collins Designs for this layout. The colors were perfect for the gray and blues in the photos.
I love this fun paper garland! It is such a great embellishment and it's pre-sewn so you don't have to worry about doing it yourself- lol! I am not such a hot sewer! Below, you can see I used it with a pretty doily and decorative brad and a couple of those fun epoxy dots, too!
This layout was inspired by a sketch from the 28 Days of Sketches- Round 2 Class I took in May. I kept my design pretty clean and simple but still used lots of patterns- I don't think I can help it! Hee!
Well, hope you enjoy your day!

Snapshots of Yellowstone Layout
Hello!
I know I posted this morning but since I had a page done and wanted to add it to our class gallery, I thought I'd share it here, too! The class I'm taking is 28 Days if Sketches, Round 2 over at Big Picture Classes and this page is inspired by the Day 2 Sketch:
I took a ton of photos during our trip across the country and many of them came from Yellowstone National Park. It was so beautiful there! I do plan on creating some more detailed layouts about what we saw there but since I don't have any done yet, I thought it would be fun to use a few of my favorites from the trip on this little layout!
I'm not so happy with how the hand written journaling turned out but what can you do... I wish I would have waited to speckle my background with the darker mist, then it wouldn't look so messy!

All the papers and the washi tapes are from the Far and Away collection by Teresa Collins. The sticker letters are from the Summer Stories collection by Teresa Collins and the Thickers are by American Crafts.
I really enjoyed working with this sketch! This page was a quick one, too, which makes it even better!
OK! Hope you have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
