Berry Best Friend Card

I have a cute card to share with you today!  It features adorable Claire the monkey from Waffle Flower Crafts...

I was in the mood for some watercoloring when I made this one!  It' such a carefree way to color images and mistakes never look as bad as in watercolor- it's like it was meant to be lol!

I used Kuretake watercolors.  The papers are from Lawn Fawn.  And the stamps and dies are by Waffle Flower.  Here is a closer look:

And since it's Watch It Wednesday on the Waffle Flower Blog, here is a video of the process too!

I really enjoyed making this one!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Tombow + Waffle Flower Blog Hop

Hello!  Today I'm part of the fun Tombow + Waffle Flower Blog Hop!  Nina is the best at partnering up with other great companies and I was so excited when she mentioned Tombow- who doesn't love their products? :)  I know I already have quite a few of their awesome adhesives in my stash- they have been my go-to for so long!

What I hadn't played with before were their awesome Dual Brush Pens.  They are water based markers and were really fun to play with!  I paired them with Waffle Flower's Rain Check Stamp Set and Partly Cloudy Die Set:

The pens are bright and cheery colors.  I decided to do a watercolor technique with them and pulled out some watercolor paper.  I diecut a journaling card shape along with the sun and clouds from watercolor paper.  I colored around the edges with the markers and then moved the color into the center with a water brush.  So easy and so pretty!

Once my watercoloring was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Rain Check Stamp Set. I also used the Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to line my clouds with some fun glitter.  Once they were dry, I used some Tombow Mono Adhesive and Foam Tape to adhere it all down to my card front.

Giveaways

Of course with every fun blog hop there is a giveaway!  Here is more information on ours:

Waffle Flower Crafts is giving away Doily Square Die and Doily Square Stamp Set.

Love You Mush!

This week's Lawnscaping Challenge is to use watercolor :)  It's one of my favorites so I thought I'd play along using the adorable Gleeful Garden set:

I started with a panel of watercolor paper and used a sponge to add some light green and blue inks to the background.  I splattered it with watercolor and used a paper towel to soak it up.  Next I stamped out the grasses and the snail.  I painted over the inside of the images with water and soaked it up too!  This erased the background color so I was able to use lighter colors without having the green mixed in to the little snail.

I stamped the mushrooms onto a scrap of watercolor paper and cut them out.  I watercolored them in and when they were dry, I added them to the panel with foam adhesive.  I added the sentiment, a strip of patterned paper by Bella Blvd. and some twine to the panel.  Then I added it to a blue card front using foam adhesive for dimension.

This stamp set is so cute!!  I'm glad I finally got to pull it out to play!

Here is the challenge graphic- if you have time, you should play along, too! :)

Thanks for popping by today!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Origami Map Card

Hi!
Hope you are enjoying the holidays!  I am nearly caught up with everything lol!  It was a tough season for me- sooo much going on!  Fun stuff though- don't think I'm trying to complain or anything hee!!

I realized over the weekend that I forgot to post this card last week.  I am playing along with the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge as a guest designer this month.  The challenge is to create a travel themed project and I knew I had to use this awesome Origami Map stamp set- I've been hoarding it since I bought it! lol!  Here's my card:

I stamped the map onto watercolor paper and cut it into a large tag shape.  I watercolored the map with q-tips and tried to use colors I'd find on a real map.  The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white powder.  The brad and patterned papers are from Teresa Collins.

I'm so happy I remembered to post this!  Better late than never I guess... :)  Don't forget to pop over to the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog to check out the travel challenge!  Thanks again for having me!!

Foxy Merry Christmas Card

Good Morning!  Can you believe it's already December 1st??  Crazy, isn't it!  We enjoyed our last weekend in November- we spent it with family and friends, relaxing and having fun!  I feel rested and ready for the holiday season!

I thought I'd kick off December with a cute Christmas card I created for a class I had a couple of weeks ago.  It features the adorable Joy to the Woods set by Lawn Fawn:

This little fox makes me smile!  I watercolored him with my q-tip technique- I'm still loving this messy watercolor look!  I let him dry and fussy cut around him.  The trees are stamped in Smoky Slate ink by Stampin' Up! and I also stamped some Soft Sky snowflakes around and glittered over them with Stickles- they are very light though and hard to see!

This was such a fun class!  I'm hoping to share the rest of my cards from it over the next week or two!

Well, I've got a few things to finish up today so I better get off the computer and back to work!  lol!  Hope you have a great day!

Inspired by Project Runway's Rainway

Hello!  I have been swimming in a to do list over the last few weeks and finally found the end of it today!!  It's so nice to be on top of things again! :)  With my to do list in check, I had time for a little fun!!
I was so inspired by last week's Project Runway episode- the one with the rainway!  Did you see it?  I absolutely loved the winning looks!  I have been wanting to make a card based on Sean's dyed dress since it aired- I'm so glad I had time today!  Here is my card:

I created the watercolored background by punching circles out of tissue paper and watercoloring them with pink, orange, and yellow inks.  I let them dry and then mod-podged them onto a piece of white cardstock.  I love the way it turned out!  The circles remind me of the circle skirt on the winning look!  I also used the same dye colors Sean chose :)

I wanted a bold sentiment and pulled out this beautiful scripty one from the Make A Wish set by Mama Elephant.  I stamped it in black and added a few stars from the set to accent it.  The rest of the card was kept simple-a bit of black and white patterned paper at the bottom of a white card base and a little twine along the bottom of my focal panel.  I'm so happy with how it turned out!

Many people have looked at this and asked if it was a stamp set I used for the background- maybe one of my stamp designing friends will do a watercolor bubble stamp set for me??  Please?  :)  Hee!  That would be pretty cool!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I can't wait to see what tonights episode inspires!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release- Simply Sentimental

Good morning!  It's day two of the Newton's Nook Designs release and boy do I love this new set, Simply Sentimental.  It's full of mix and match sentiments!  Here is what I made:

Don't you love the mix of cursive and print together?  I do!  There are so many combinations in this set- it's perfect for every occasion!

I started out with a kraft card base, embossing it with the large polkadot embossing folder by Stampin' Up!  I stamped out the roses from the Love Grows set with peach, coral, and yellow ink on to  watercolor paper.  Then I watercolored over each one with the same color they were stamped in. I also flicked a little coral mist over the top and let it all dry.

Once it was dry, I stamped my sentiment with black Archival ink.  It's such a pretty crisp black ink!  I stamped the larger word first and then added the smaller words to the top and the bottom.  You could easily line them all up on your stamping block and stamp them at the same time, too!

Would you like to win “Simply Sentimental”?

This set will be given away to TWO lucky winners

Newton's Know How: Watercolored Flamingos Card

Hello!  I have a Newton's Know-how up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today.  I thought I'd  share it with you here today too!  It features a fun watercoloring technique and one of my favorite new stamp sets, Flirty Flamingos:

I started with a kraft card base and splattered gray ink all over it.  I added a piece of coral striped patterned paper from the Teresa Collins Designs Something Wonderful 6x6 pad to the card front.  Next, I diecut a piece of watercolor paper into with a journaling card shaped die by Taylored Expressions.  I stamped the flamingo and sentiment with Jet Black Staz On ink.
Now comes the fun part!

I pulled out my favorite blue, coral, and yellow ink pads along with a bit of water in a cup.  I also
pulled out a bunch of q-tips!  Yep, that's what makes the great dotted look! :)
I took turns dotting colors onto my image until it was all filled in.  I let layers dry and then added a little more for depth.  I've made a video to show the technique a little better- enjoy!

I hope you try out this fun technique for yourself!  I love the dotted look and can't wait to try it again soon!
