You Rock Card

Hello!
I'm popping on today to share a card I made for the current Freshly Made Sketch Challenge:

I got some new Stampin' Up! goodies recently and was excited to use this one- it's called You Rock:

I stamped the rocker out with Staz On ink on watercolor paper.  I colored it with my Bermuda Bay ink pad.  I fussy cut around it and set it aside.  The background panel is also watercolor paper.  I sponged Calypso Coral ink over it and then splattered it with water to give it a splattered look.  I added the background panel onto my Sahara Sand card base and then stamped the sentiment.   I added the strip of gold striped vellum on the bottom.  The thread was added next and pinned down with the rocker which was adhered with dimensionals.  I added just a few sequins to finish off the look:

I always love playing along with Freshly Made Sketches!  I'm glad I had time- this sketch was so cute!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Dreams Do Come True Card

Hello!  I'm popping on to share a card I made with my new goodies from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store- I'm so excited to be guest designing with them this month!  I love the Solstice 6x6 paper pad by Pink Paislee- the patterned papers are so pretty and it just has that fall feel to it without being so themed.  I paired it with the Dreams stamp by Neat and Tangled along with the banner dies and twine by Lawn Fawn:

I started with a piece of the patterned paper and cut it to fit my card front.  I splattered it with gold mist and let it dry.  I diecut the banner out of vellum and stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Staz On ink.  I stamped it again onto some pink patterned paper and cut out around it.  I added it to the banner using foam adhesive.

I wanted the sentiment to stand out a little more so I cut out another piece of vellum to add underneath the banner.  I cut it in a shape that kind of looked like a watercolor blob :)  I wanted it to look like there was white watercolor behind it.  To tell you the truth, I tried many times to actually watercolor the vellum but vellum and watercolor don't seem to mix well!

I adhered the vellum blog onto my card front and then added my banner over the top of it.  I used the Kool Tac Clear Foam Adhesive strategically so you wouldn't see them through the vellum.  I added the twine last, tying it to the left side.  I curled the ends a bit as well by wrapping it around a pencil overnight.

I'm so happy I had the chance to guest design for my favorite online store!  Thanks for having me!!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release- Versatile Vases

Good morning!  I'm back with a card inspired by another lovely stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs April release.  Versatile Vases is a great set- there are so many things you can do with it!  Here is what I made:

Newton's Nook Hello Card 1- Tessa Wise

Have you heard of the masking tape technique?  I saw it while perusing the internet the other day and wanted to try it ever since!  It reminded me of sea glass in a way- all mottled and imperfect.  I thought it would make a perfect background for Versatile Vases.

I used a few lighter Stampin' Up! inks to get this look.  The newer foam pads come out a lot more colorful than the older felt ones, just so you know :)  Once my background was dry, I started stamping.  I started with the mason jar, then added the blossoms and finished with the sentiment.  This look didn't take long at all!  I embellished it with just a bit of glitter on the flowers and a small piece of linen thread tied around the jar.

Artsy New Goodies From Stampin' Up!

Every now and then I get asked to make some samples for my Stampin' Up! demonstrator- and of course I always say yes!  I love playing with new goodies!  She popped by with some of the new products from the upcoming Celebrate the Everyday Catalog and I got right to work.  Here are the cards I made:

Happy Flowers Card 1

This first one features the beautiful Happy Watercolor stamp set along with the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, and Watercolor Wonder DSP.  They are all gorgeous- seriously!  The flowers, paint splotch, and sentiment have been stamped on Whisper White cardstock that I die-cut into an oval.  The flowers were watercolored with residual inks.  I've added a little splatter with a Cameo Coral reinker mixed with water and a few gold sequins, also new in the catalog

Happy Flowers Card 2

Aren't the touches of gold pretty?  I wish I had the gold baker's twine to do my bow with, too!

The second showcases the new Ampersand embossing folder along with the Watercolor Wonder washi tape, Gold Sequin Trim, and Watercolor Wonder DSP.  I can't get enough of that DSP!!

Ampersand Card 1

I love this embossing folder!  The large ampersand is so cool!  I've embossed my card front and then sanded over it a little so it would stand out a bit more on the dsp.  Next, I added two of the new gold washi tapes to the bottom of the card along with a big of the pretty gold sequin trim.  I stamped my sentiment (from the Happy Watercolor set) onto vellum and die-cut it using one of the Chalk Talk dies.  Lastly, I embellished it with a pretty button and a splatter of shimmer spray.

Ampersand Card 2

I loved the look of this paper in the book and it doesn't disappoint!  The full watercolor sheets are my favorite!

One more card- this one is clean and simple:

Cantaloupe Thank You Card 1

I started with a card base of Crisp Cantaloupe.  I then stamped the watercolor polka-dots (from the Happy Watercolor set) along the bottom with matching ink.  I added just a strip of the multicolored chevron print.  Next, I stamped and embossed the sentiment (from the Another Thank You set) and then I added a few sequins for accent.

Cantaloupe Thank You Card 2

The colors in the Watercolor Wonder suite were so fresh and fun to play with!  I really enjoyed the new goodies and I can't wait until January to order!  I am loving so much out of the mini!!

Well, hope you are having a great day!
