Inky Paws Challenge- Go Green!

Good morning!

Today I'm playing along with Newton's Nook Designs latest Inky Paws Challenge!  It's a fun one:

Yep- we are featuring all things green this month! :)  I pulled out the fun Magical Dreams set for this one:

Green Dragon Card 2

That cute dragon was just calling to me!  Hee!  I wanted him to be my focal point so I colored him green with my Copics.  I was going for a black and white with a pop of color look but I ended up with a few pops of color!  The patterned papers are from the Plus One 6x6 pad by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts.  I pulled out those fun narrow washi tapes again, too!  The smaller tag die is from Reverse Confetti- I just can't stop using it!  I love the shape.  I also added a few wooden stars from Studio Calico.

I'm happy with how this little guy turned out!  It was fun to start with one color as my inspiration, too!  Don't forget to pop over to the Newton's Nook Designs Blog to see what the rest of the design team created.  You can play along, too- don't forget to link up to their blog for your chance to win!

Hope you have a great day!

Keep On Card

Hi!  Only one more day till I'll be cropping the night away at my favorite retreat!  I still have a few things to pack but I mostly know what I want to work on so it shouldn't take too long! :)  Hee!  I always have the tendency to pack everything!

I thought I'd share a card I created recently- I had a bunch of new goodies I wanted to play with and kind of mish mashed them together,  It's a little wacky but I kind of like it!

Keep On Card 1

I started with a kraft card base and then added the days of the week from one of the Basically Essential stencils by Teresa Collins Designs.  After the modeling paste was dry, I splattered it with gold and teal mist.  I also used my spritzer and a kraft marker to add a fine mist to a few areas.   Next, I added some washi tape- the black and white stripes are from Teresa Collins Designs and the mini strips are from the new Amy Tangerine Collection- I had to have them!  The colors are so bright and happy!  The card I added my sentiment to and the patterned papers are also from the same collection.

Keep On Card 2

The sentiment is from the Hustle stamp set by Mama Elephant.  I stamped it with black Memento and then colored inside the letters with a green Copic marker.  Once I added the sentiment card, I added a bit of twine and then used my new Stampin' Up! triangle punch to create the patterned paper triangles.  So glad I picked this up!

Well, I told you I mish mashed a bunch of goodies together! lol!  I did enjoy making it though! :)

In other news, I got a fun package in the mail yesterday:

Thanks again Xyron for the fun Teresa Collins products!  I've already started to put them to good use! :)

Hope you're having a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Totem Kids Layout

Hi There!

Today I have a layout to share with you!  This is another one from my Disney trip-- can you believe I've been working on it for 2 years now!  Lol!  I'm still enjoying it so I keep going! :)

I've used some older papers for this one.  The patterns are from the Chaps line by American Crafts.  I've mixed it with some newer embellishments- washi tape by Teresa Collins and Stampin' Up! and wooden vener stars by Studio Calico.

The sticker letters are from Pebbles, Inc.  They are just cardstock but they are so easy to use!  I have used them on many projects and I love them!

These pictures were taken in the Canadian area of Epcot Center.  We were getting some food and found this silly wall- I'm glad my dad snapped a few pictures!

Well, thanks for stopping by today!

Made With Love

Hello and happy Valentine's day!  I'm glad you stopped by because today I'm hopping along with some of my amazing card-making friends!

If you're following along with the hop then you're probably here from Laurie Willison's blog.  Doesn't she make some great cards?  Her creations always make me smile!  Laurie  is one of the twenty friends I made during last summer's Gallery Idol contest put on by Paper Crafts Magazine.   Most of us are hopping today and we each have amazing givaways thanks to a long list of sponsors!  For more information on the participants and our generous sponsors, please check out our Facebook Event page.

I've made a few little things to share with you today- all featuring one of our great sponsors, SRM Stickers!  I've paired their great We've Got Your Boarder- Valentine sheet with the American Crafts XOXO line to make some fun Valentines treats.  First up is my card:

I really loved this floral patterned paper from the XOXO line by American Crafts.  I've used it on nearly all of my Valentine's Day projects this year!  The cute 3-D heart sticker is also from the same line.  I added the sentiment sticker and then highlighted it with some fun twine by the Twinery.  Sticker sentiments seem so easy and stress free after years of stamping!  Hee!

My second project is a little clear goodie box.  It is the perfect size for one of my favorite nail polishes- wouldn't that be a fun treat to receive? :)  I've decorated it with a couple of the SRM border strips and just a little bit of twine.  Doesn't take much to make these little boxes look good!

My last treat is a glassine bag filled with cookies.  For this, I used a few hearts and a strip of First Edition DSP left over from my banner project I shared yesterday.  I simply wrapped the bag with more of that fun twine to finish the project off.

SRM Stickers has been generous enough to provide me with a givaway!  They have given me an assortment of cardmaking products including Sticker Sentiments, Fancy Sticker Sentiments, and We've Got Your Boarders to give away to one lucky reader.  Please leave a comment for your chance to win! The contest closes on February 21st at 11pm.

From here, you'll want to head over to Nina Yang's blog.  She's got another great Valentine's Day project for you as well as another giveaway!  Pretty fun if you ask me!

I'm so glad you were able to visit today! I hope you are able to check out all the participants blogs today!  These ladies are truly talented! I hear there is also a secret grand prize hidden in someone's blog so leave lots of comments for a chance to win!

My Girls Layout for Inspired Blueprints #82

Good morning!

Today I have a layout to share using the newest Inspired Blueprints sketch, #82.  I've used it to scrap my most favorite picture of my two girls:

Since the pattern in the background was so bold, I decided to go for a cleaner style with this layout.  I've used the pretty 5th & Frolic line by Dear Lizzy for American Crafts- all of the papers and most of the embellishments are from this line. I loved the patterns in this line so much and I couldn't pass up the feathers or the sequins!  Hee!  They are so pretty!

The doily stamp is by Stampin' Up! and was stamped with Versamark and embossed using white embossing powder.  It looks so crisp against the yellow.

This sketch was so fun to work with- I am thankful for such wonderful inspiration!  I hope you have time to play along with us this week and don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's work as well- there are some beautiful takes on the sketch!

Hello Card and a Winner!

Hello there! How is your week going so far? I am recouping today after having my sweet nephews and niece come to stay with me for a week. We had so much fun but caring for 6 little ones is a lot of work! I tried to keep them busy with lots of fun activities! Here is my daughter and two of her cousins showing off the tie-dye shirts they made:

Needless to say I've only made one card over the last week! I played along with Kimber McGray's Saturday Sketch Challenge at Two Peas in a Bucket. Here is my card:

Goodies:

Stamps: Country Picnic set by Pebbles Inc.
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black by Tsunkeniko
Paper: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook by American Crafts; cardstock by Bazzill Basics
Accessories: baker's twine by Pink Paislee

Isn't it a great sketch? I couldn't help but play along! I used my AT Sketchbook patterned papers finally (I've been hoarding them!) and I love all the fun, bright colors!

I also have a winner to announce from the Shaping Up Blog Hop:

Fun and Funky Fall Cards

Cropping down at Scrapdoodles on Saturday had one thing going that I can't get stamping at home- shopping! Hee! I didn't buy too much but I was so inspired by the new Amy Tangerine Line by American Crafts- I had to get it! Here are a few cards I made using mostly products from this line as well as those great leaf stamps from Stampin' Up!:

Don't you love the funky color scheme? I added some feathers, created a fabric flower (with the fabric paper) and sanded around the edges of my stickers to add some texture to my cards. I wanted to keep the designs simple though. What a fun line of product to play with!

So, things have been a little weird around here this week. I live in Northern Virginia so we felt the earthquake pretty good- I'm from Seattle and spent a few years in California before moving to the east so I knew what was going on. It was just unexpected and weird! We didn't have any damage so that is good! And, I got to teach Zoey and Natalie a science lesson about what causes earthquakes. Zoey was convinced that it was a giant bunny rabbit coming to get us! LOL! I think she got that from a Strawberry Shortcake movie we have!

We had quite a large aftershock last night, too. It woke me up just after 1am and I couldn't get myself back to sleep for a couple hours... I'll be taking it easy around the house today and adding an extra cup of coffee to the menu! Even now every rumble I hear has me on alert.

To top the week off, we get to watch out for a hurricane, too! I'm thinking we'll get the rain but not the full force of the winds but still... what a week!

Sorry for the rambling today. I blame the lack of sleep! Thanks for stopping by and listening, hee!
