Thank You Cath!

Today along with so many card makers from around the world, we are celebrating a woman who can only be described as Moxie Fab!  Cath has been part of my everyday for many years, writing a blog called Moxie Fab World for Paper Crafts Magazine.  She updates it all week long, providing endless bits of inspiration and inspiring me to create pretty things.  It just won't be the same with out her!  I'll miss you Cath!

If you're following along with the hop, you've probably come from Lori Craig's blog.  There are so many people hopping along- what a fun way to say farewell to Cath!

I decided to share a card that I love today- it's cute and colorful and has a touch of sparkle!  All things that feel so Moxie Fab to me!  This one makes me smile:

The snowman stamp is by Darcie's Heart and Home.  The patterned paper is by Pebbles, Inc., and the sticker sentiment is by SRM Stickers.  The sequins were from the You Are My Happy collection by Teresa Collins Designs.  I used my Prismacolor pencils to color this little guy in and afterward, I added some glitter to the snowflakes around him.

So, Cath, merriest of wishes to you!  I'm sure you're off to exciting things!  Thank you for the years of inspiration and challenges that have helped me become a better card maker!

There are literally hundreds hopping along with us today but please pop over to Courtney Kelly's blog next!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Teacher Cards

Hi There!  Well it's Tuesday!  It's also the last day of school for us this year!  It's amazing how fast the school year went--  I can't believe that I'll have 1st and 3rd graders in a few months!  Today I wanted to share a couple of the cards I created for my girls' teachers this year.  I am so thankful for the staff at their school!  We have had a great year and I've seen my girls grow so much!  I know a lot of it has to do with school and especially their teachers!

For these cards, I used Lawn Fawn's A Good Apple set.  I love how the mini chalkboards turned out!

This one is for Zoey's teacher.  He is so great!  For this, I used Simple Stories 24/7 line.  I kept it simple to let the sentiment shine!

Here is Natalie's teacher's card:

I used Pebbles Inc. Lakeside collection.  Again, I kept it simple!

I had lots of fun stamping these little chalkboards!  Of course, both girls said "Mom, you know we have white boards at school, don't you?"  lol!  Times have changed!  Maybe I'll try a white board next time! Wouldn't that be cute with neon embossing powder?

Well, hope you are enjoying your day!  I'm going to get these kids to school and then run my errons!  Happy last day of school! :)

Hello Card and a Winner!

Hello there! How is your week going so far? I am recouping today after having my sweet nephews and niece come to stay with me for a week. We had so much fun but caring for 6 little ones is a lot of work! I tried to keep them busy with lots of fun activities! Here is my daughter and two of her cousins showing off the tie-dye shirts they made:

Needless to say I've only made one card over the last week! I played along with Kimber McGray's Saturday Sketch Challenge at Two Peas in a Bucket. Here is my card:

Goodies:

Stamps: Country Picnic set by Pebbles Inc.
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black by Tsunkeniko
Paper: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook by American Crafts; cardstock by Bazzill Basics
Accessories: baker's twine by Pink Paislee

Isn't it a great sketch? I couldn't help but play along! I used my AT Sketchbook patterned papers finally (I've been hoarding them!) and I love all the fun, bright colors!

I also have a winner to announce from the Shaping Up Blog Hop:

Anniversary Cupcakes Card

Hi There! Is your week off to a good start? We are enjoying our last week of school finally! The girls and I are definitely ready for summer!

I've been doing a lot of scrapbooking lately and had my scraps from a page I did using Pebbles' Hip Hip Hooray line on my desk just begging to be made into a card- I LOVE the rainbow colored plaid paper! I paired it with the Create a Cupcake set by Stampin' Up! and came up with this:

Goodies:

Stamps: Create a Cupcake set, A Word for You set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi classic inks; Versafine Black Onyx
Paper: Whisper White, Dafodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party cardstock by Stampin' Up!; darker pink cardstock by Bazzill Basics; Hip Hip Hooray collection by Pebbles, Inc.
Accessories: Cupcake Builder punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Pool Party Baker's Twine, Basic Rhinestones, White Signo gel pen, Dazzling Details (all by Stampin' Up!)

I've had the idea to do little lovey cupcakes for awhile and I'm glad to finally see it on paper- they are so cute! I also love the color pallet of this card- so bright and cheerful you can't help but smile! I have to thank Pebbles for that, hee!

Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Thanks for popping by to take a peek at my card!

My Sister in Central Park- a Scrapbook page!

Hello!

I've signed up for Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook class again so this week I am scrapbooking! I used Kelly's first sketch as inspiration for this page and I love how it turned out. It features one of my favorite pictures of one of my favorite people- my sister Trish:

one of the details:

Goodies:

Text patterned paper: Teresa Collins
Yellow polka-dotted paper, chevron paper, tiny letter stickers: Lily Bee Design
Gray fabric print: Pink Paislee
Journaling box, flowers, and faux tape stickers: Pebbles
Blue letter stickers: October Afternoon
Boxed gray and white letter stickers: Echo Park
Rhinestones, Signo Gel Pen, paper piercing kit: Stampin' Up!

Trish and I spent a day in New York last year for her birthday. We had lots of fun running around the city and were able to spend a little time at Central Park. These beautiful stones were so cool and I made Trish climb up on them to take her picture. I love that you can see the buildings behind her.

I didn't add too many elements to my page- just a few stickers and a journaling block. I stuck pretty close to the sketch, except that I turned it on it's side and only added one large picture instead of three small ones. I am loving Kelly's class so far- it is my second year taking it and her sketches are always so fun to work with. Dawn McVey is doing the card samples this year and her samples are making me want to make some cards, too! I think I'll try to squeak one out when the girls go to bed tonight...

Well, hope you are enjoying your week! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my page today!

A Blue Posie Card

Hi there!

Hope you're enjoying your afternoon! We are having another wonderful spring day where I live which means I've been playing outside with two little ones all day! We just got back from picking up my oldest from school and finally, they all want to relax and watch a little movie... I'm OK with that! Hee! These kids really keep me going some days!

I had a great time this weekend- I cropped with some of my favorite people down at Scrapdoodles on Saturday and I have to say, it was one of my favorite marathon crops ever! Thanks for the fun times girls!! I was able to get lots done... 3 cards and a couple layouts, too! Today I'm sharing one of my cards- it was inspired by the Saturday Sketch Challenge over at Two Peas in a Bucket. I am really liking these challenges! Here is my card:

Goodies:

Stamps: Pebbles
Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black, Pacific Point- Stampin' Up!
Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Gray, Whisper White cardstock- Stampin' Up!; Sasparilla 8x8 pad- October Afternoon
Accessories: Crochet trim, Linen Thread, Scallop punch, Dazzling Details- Stampin' Up!

I am loving all the pretty blue papers in the Sasparilla line by October Afternoon. There are so many pretty prints! I was excited to put some of them together for this card. I also love the look of the posie stamp but I have to say... it was a pain to use! I use predominantly dye based inks and wanted to use markers to color the stamp in three different colors- not easy when using an acrylic stamp! I ended up having to color over the image to fill in the areas where the inks wouldn't stick. I know this wouldn't be a problem if I was using pigment inks but I haven't found pigment ink markers... Do you have any you like to use with acrylic stamps?

OK! Well the movie my kids put in was a good idea but they are ready to head outside again! lol! At least they will sleep good tonight!

Thanks for stopping by and if you get a chance, check out the great sketches at Two Peas!
