Hello There Card

Hi There!

Here it is the last day of April- can you believe it?  Spring seems to be flying by this year!  I'm busy making all my summer plans and I'm pretty sure that it will be just as busy!  I love making plans! :)

Today I want to share a fun card using a mix of different products:

I've mixed stamps from Paper Smooches, Studio Calico for Hero Arts, Stampin' Up! and Teresa Collins Designs on this one!  Can you pick them all out?? :)  I had bunches of stamps on my desk when I was doing some organization and this just sort of happened!  I'm happy with how it turned out and will have to mix up my stamps more often!

Everything is stamped on this card except for the one strip of orange striped patterned paper.  I colored the telephone with Copic Markers and pieced it onto the chevron stamped oval.  The splatters in the background were created with white Dylusions mist- my new favorite white mist!

Well, better get back to my day!  I have quite a long list of to-dos and not much time to get through them all!  :)  As always, thank you for stopping by to see what I've been working on!

A Friendship Card

Hi again!  Today is my cleaning day but before I got started, I thought I'd pop on and share a card! This is another one I did last week, just after I got my DT goodies!  This one features the new Summer Stories line by Teresa Collins- this time I used the papers from the 6x6 pad:

The dandelion stamp is from the Summer Stories stamp set and the sentiment is from the Feel Goods set by Stampin' Up!  I've embellished it with the Sticker Stitches by SRM Stickers and pink baker's twine by The Twinery.

This sentiment set by Stampin' Up!  is such a good one!  I was so happy when I saw that it would be returning in the new catalog!  I seriously can't wait until we can order from it!!  I'm trying to be good about my spending now so that I'll have a little extra come June!  Hee!!

Anyways, I guess I better get started on the cleaning!  Lol!  Oh the life of a mom!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

A Couple of Disney Layouts

Well, I said I'd be back today and I am! :)  Inspired Blueprints let a bunch of sketches go live last week so I've got two layouts based on two different sketches to share with you!  Both are for my Disney album and happen to feature fun pictures of my sister!  Hee!  I'm sure she'll love that I blogged these!

Here is the first one based on Inspired Blueprints #90:

I created a background using my collection of washi tapes in a criss-cross pattern.  I painted a thin layer of gesso over the top of them to tone them down a bit and then added my pictures, title, and banner.  It's fun and different then my regular scrapping!

The second one is based off of Inspired Blueprints #92:

I love this picture of my sister!  Hee!  She is always up for the goofy things I ask her to do!  We were waiting for the late Main Street parade to start when I took this one!  To showcase this silly picture of my sister, I used the new 24-7 line by Simple Stories. The patterns are all from the 6x6 pad and I used them in place of the pictures in the original sketch.  I embellished the page with a few epoxy dots from My Minds Eye and the stickers and alphabets from the 24-7 collection.

I'm so glad I finally got to share these with you!  If you get a chance, stop by Inspired Blueprints to see all the great sketches that went live last week!  The design team has lots to share!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pretty Pink Card

Hello There!
I know it's been a while since I posted- that has to do with me leaving my laptop cord at a crop! Lol!  I tried to track it down but it seems that someone took it home with them thinking it was her friends cord.  I think I should be getting it back soon but you know how those things work out- never as soon as you want, right?  :)  Luckily my hubby has a laptop I can use... Unluckily, it's a mac and I have never used one!  It feels like I'm using my left hand to do everything on it!  I did figure out how to scroll, how to copy and paste, and how to edit pictures so I think I'm set!  Hopefully I can catch you up to speed on everything that happened last week!

So, first I want to share that I'll be guest designing for Avocado Arts in May!  They emailed and asked if I would be interested and of course I said yes!  Their designs are so fun and cute!  I'll be sharing what I create for them in a few more weeks!

Next, I want to share what came in the mail! I got my first box of goodies from Teresa Collins Designs!!  They were so generous!  I received everything from the newest collection, Summer Stories that will be shipping to stores soon.  The papers are so pretty and some have been glittered!  Such a pretty surprise!  I also had 6x6 pads and 12x12 collection packs of each line that was released at Winter CHA as well as a good helping of Washi tapes and embellishments!  Seriously so fun!!  I always have to pick and choose goodies to stay in my budget so to have all of this seems so luxurious!  :)  Here is a picture I shared on Instagram when I got it:

I've had most of this out on my desk since it came and have been loving it!  I have a few cards done and today I'll share one of my favorites!  It also features stamps from her new line with Fiskars!

Isn't all the pink fun? I used the stripes from the Summer Stories collection as my base and flicked a little pink mist on it.  Once that was dry, I added a doily that was folded in half.  I added part of a pink glittery boarder strip from the He Said, She Said collection next and then wrapped some linen thread around the card.  I added a button from the Summer Stories chipboard buttons pack and finished the thread with a bow.

I used the chalkboard technique for the sentiment, stamping it onto black cardstock and heat embossing it with white powder.  I cut it into a banner shape and doodled some scallops and stripes into the bottom part of the banner.  I added it to my card using pop dots and then added the pink banners from the Summer Stories die cut sheet to embellish around it.  To finish my card, I used a pink Copic marker to color over the white embossing powder to highlight the word pink- it really stands out now!

I really love how it turned out!  The shades of pink look so pretty together and the glitter strip adds just enough sparkle!  I can't wait to show you the other cards I've made!

Well, I better get off the computer now and head to bed... Thanks for letting me catch up with some things from last week!  I'll be back tomorrow with some more catch up, this time with pages for Inspired Blueprints!

Thanks for stopping by!

He Said, She Said Cards

Hi!
I have some fun cards to share with you today but first, I wanted to say thank you for all your comments and well wishes here on my blog, on Facebook, on Teresa's blog, and in my email box!  It means a lot to have you all cheering for me and now I'm even more excited to get started on some fun things for Teresa Collins Designs.

So I was on a mission to create some masculine cards for my stash when I made these.  I used patterned papers from both He Said, She Said 6x6 pads, the He Said, She Said sticker sheet, and enamel dots from the Memories and Far Away line.

For this one, I was inspired by the confetti trend that is going on.  This would by my take of a many confetti card:

I chose patterns that were simple and more muted.  You can see I kept my embellishments simple, too- I always want to go for busier embellishments but for a man, you really can't!  I added some linen thread to the top, finishing it with a simple knot.  I added epoxy dots and a little Mr. Huey Calico Shine spray randomly into my confetti.

You can see some of the sparkle that the Shine spray adds... still manly but fun, too!

This next card is pretty masculine but really could work for anyone:

After I created my card base, I embossed the bottom third with my polka-dot folder.  Next, I added the hexagon stickers and my sentiment.  I flicked a little Shine spray on this one, too and again added a few epoxy dots for accent.  I finished with the baker's twine and decided to go with a bow.

Masculine cards have always been a tough one for me and I'm happy to have two more to add to my stash!

Well, thanks for stopping by today!  I'm going to get busy on some house cleaning- I did a great job yesterday with ignoring it and now I'm paying!  lol!

Happy News!

Good Morning!  It's a great morning, actually!  I have the best news and I can still hardly believe it!!  I've been asked to join an amazing design team!  And, not just any design team- this one is one of my favorites- a company that I do plenty of buying from already and love!

Yes!  Can you believe it? I am going to be a member of the Teresa Collins design team!!!  I am a happy girl!  This is something that I never dreamed would happen so it was quite a shock when Teresa herself messaged  me to ask if I'd like to join!  I'm so lucky to have met her last month at the retreat!!

I will mainly be making cards for them so I thought I'd share a couple with you today in honor of my big announcement:

I paired the little heart stamp from the She Said stamp set with the pretty diecuts and paper from the Memories line.  I started by stamping the hearts with the pretty gold Delacato ink.  Next, I splattered a little Gold Lame' Color Shine (which matches perfectly) in the same areas as the hearts. I started to build my focal point next with the pretty floral strip and gold baker's twine.  I added the die cut doily and button next, accenting it with an epoxy dot.  To finish it off, I added my sentiment on a hand cut banner.

See the shine!  I am loving gold at the moment!  I even used it on this next card as well:

As you can see, I've continued with the same color pallet, this time throwing in a little yellow patterned paper from the She Said 6x6 pad.  I splattered the gold all over my pool base and then added the notebook paper card for my focal point base.  Doesn't that flower stamp up pretty?  I stamped it with my favorite Calypso Coral ink and added some more Gold Lame' Color Shine to the center.

I've accented the flower with more of those pretty turquoise epoxy dots!  I added the patterned strips at a slight angle for interest and so you could see more of the fleur de lis.  I finished it off with a fun sentiment stamped in black.

Thank you so much for celebrating with me today!  I am so excited and honored for the opportunity to work with such fabulous designers and for such a great company! If you'd like to read the announcement, Teresa is sharing it on her blog today!  I'm still having a hard time believing that it's all for real!  Hee!

A Disney Themed Graduation with SRM Stickers!

Hello and happy Friday!

I have another little sneak peek for you today!  I'm guesting over at the SRM Sticker blog again- this time with a fun, Disney themed graduation set!

I was inspired by my own graduation present- tickets to Disneyland- for this little trio of projects!  I figured I couldn't have been the only Disney loving graduate out there, right?  :)  I think it's pretty fun to custom make cards for people, too- that's the great thing about SRM Stickers- they fit any theme or style!

To see my three Disney themed projects, please visit the SRM Stickers blog!  Don't forget to leave a comment because they are giving away a set of the goodies I've used to create my projects!  They are so generous and I can't say enough how thankful I am for a guest design spot on their blog.  I truly enjoyed making each of my projects for them!

Hope you have a great Friday!

Little Birdie Projects for SRM Stickers

Good Morning!

Today I'm excited to share that I'm guest designing for SRM Stickers!  I used some of my favorite products from their current line to create a trio of fun, bird themed projects!  Here is a little peek:

I created three projects for them using their amazing stickers, glassine envelopes, and tubes.  My favorites are the Stickers By the Dozen Sheets because so many come on one sheet!   The 'Thank You' seen above is a great example- it is the perfect size and I love the fonts!  I am also in love with their glassine envelopes and clear pillow boxes.  They add a special touch when giving out goodies to my friends and family!

Please pop on over to the SRM Stickers blog to check out my projects!  Susan is also giving away some of the goodies she sent me to use so be sure to leave a comment there for your chance to win!!

It has been so much fun creating for SRM Stickers and I am so thankful for the opportunity!  Thanks again Susan! :)
