Raining Flowers Thank You Card

Hi There!

Looks like the week is going by fast for me again... We've been spring cleaning around our house. Yesterday I did my closet and today I worked on the girls' closets. I need to do a good cleaning of the walls tomorrow. lol! I'm sure you are all jealous of that! I am attending a great crop this weekend though so at least I've got something fun to look forward to after all this hard work!

Over the weekend I made a few cards- I created this one using Stampin' Up!'s Raining Flowers set:

And here is a closer look at the flowers:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Raining Flowers, Thank You Kindly
Ink: Basic Gray, Going Gray, Peach Parfait, Pool Party classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Pool Party cardstock; Basic Gray textured cardstock; First Edition DSP; Neutrals DSP; Farmhouse Collection by October Afternoon
Accessories: Victoria crochet trim, basic rhinestones, Scallop Edge punch, linen thread, antique brads

I love layering the flowers in this set. They look so nice all together. It really is one of my favorite stamp sets. This card came together pretty easily so there isn't too much to say about it!

Hope you have a great rest of the week and thanks for stopping by!

A Bright Chevron Card

Hello!

I though since there was nothing on TV tonight I'd pop on and blog another card I made last weekend at my crop. This one is full of color! I was inspired by a store customer who was trying to figure out how to create a chevron pattern in a simple way. I've seen it done a number of ways and explained it to her but of course, showing someone is always easier then explaining... lol! So I made a card. Here it is:

Goodies:

Stamps: Friendly Phrases- Stampin' Up!
Ink: Onyx Black Versafine
Paper: Very Vanilla cardstock- Stampin' Up!; patterns by Echo Park and Cosmo Cricket
Accessories: black thread- DMC

I think I'll add this card to my April Card Class line up down at Scrapdoodles. It was fun to make and a great way to use those scraps!

Did everyone enjoy the first day of spring? I spent the day with my littlest Natalie and enjoyed a free ice from Rita's, riding bikes up and down our street, and having bologna sandwiches for lunch. It was fun! I would really like to catch the cherry blossoms up in DC this week but with school and babysitting responsibilities, I'm afraid I am going to miss the beautiful trees this year. Their peak went by so fast this year! Not that I'm complaining about the weather... I'm loving all the sun! I guess it's an OK trade off, as long as the sun keeps shining!

Alright! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you have a great start to spring!

A Blue Posie Card

Hi there!

Hope you're enjoying your afternoon! We are having another wonderful spring day where I live which means I've been playing outside with two little ones all day! We just got back from picking up my oldest from school and finally, they all want to relax and watch a little movie... I'm OK with that! Hee! These kids really keep me going some days!

I had a great time this weekend- I cropped with some of my favorite people down at Scrapdoodles on Saturday and I have to say, it was one of my favorite marathon crops ever! Thanks for the fun times girls!! I was able to get lots done... 3 cards and a couple layouts, too! Today I'm sharing one of my cards- it was inspired by the Saturday Sketch Challenge over at Two Peas in a Bucket. I am really liking these challenges! Here is my card:

Goodies:

Stamps: Pebbles
Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black, Pacific Point- Stampin' Up!
Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Gray, Whisper White cardstock- Stampin' Up!; Sasparilla 8x8 pad- October Afternoon
Accessories: Crochet trim, Linen Thread, Scallop punch, Dazzling Details- Stampin' Up!

I am loving all the pretty blue papers in the Sasparilla line by October Afternoon. There are so many pretty prints! I was excited to put some of them together for this card. I also love the look of the posie stamp but I have to say... it was a pain to use! I use predominantly dye based inks and wanted to use markers to color the stamp in three different colors- not easy when using an acrylic stamp! I ended up having to color over the image to fill in the areas where the inks wouldn't stick. I know this wouldn't be a problem if I was using pigment inks but I haven't found pigment ink markers... Do you have any you like to use with acrylic stamps?

OK! Well the movie my kids put in was a good idea but they are ready to head outside again! lol! At least they will sleep good tonight!

Thanks for stopping by and if you get a chance, check out the great sketches at Two Peas!

A Little Sketch Fun

Hello!

How are you doing today? We are having a great day here- the sun is shining and it's nice and warm out- a big change from the last few days... It has been pretty chilly here this week! And, with all the cold weather, we stayed inside mostly so I had time to play along with the Saturday Sketch challenge at Two Peas in a Bucket! Here is what I made:

Goodies:

Stamps: Miss Caroline stamps- My Mind's Eye
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black- Stampin' Up!
Paper: Whisper White cardstock- Stampin' Up!; Red and Aqua cardstock- Bazzill Basics; patterned prints- Basic Gray, Pebbles, October Afternoon, Bazzill Basics
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch- Stampin' Up!; black thread- DMC; white pen- Uniball Signo, paper piercer- Stampin' Up!

I was able to use the scraps I had left over from my class at the Scrapdoodles Retreat a few weeks ago to create all my little banners on this card. I also got to break out a new stamp set I've had since then- I love the sentiment! There is another butterfly in the set that has a woodgrain pattern on it, too! I can't wait to use it again!

Alright! I'm going to keep this short today so I can get out and enjoy that sunshine! Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by to peek at my card!

Orange Kite Card

Hi!

Can you believe it's already March 1st? I am surprised how fast this year is going by already! Here in Northern Virginia, it feels like spring- we have the most beautiful weather today and it is making me want to go outside and play! I actually weeded my flower beds this morning and found lots of bulbs up and ready to bloom! I can't wait!

Today's card is very springy! I used the new Send Me Soaring set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. Here is my card:

Goodies:
all products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Stamps: Send Me Soaring
Ink: Pool Party Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie classic inks
Paper: Whisper White cardstock; Flirtatious DSP
Accessories: baker's twine by Pink Paislee

The simple layout was inspired by this card Debby at the Lime Doodle Blog created. I loved the idea of stamping my sky scene on the white banner and anchoring it with baker's twine!

Anyways, better get back to the little ones... I think we're going to get the bubbles out today! Hope you are having a great day and thanks for stopping by today!
