Thanksgiving Cross Stitch

wall art

I have two cute finished pieces to share with you today!  I love fall designs and finished these two cross stitch patterns over the last year.  They were small and fairly simple to work on but did contain a bunch of pretty varigated floss which can be pricey!

First up is The Thankful Owls by Bent Creek.  I fell in love with the owls on this one!  And, they are tiny enough to fit on a fork!  I had to stitch it :)

I used the called for floss and stitiched it up on a 32 count linen.  I can't recall the name of the color but if I remember, I'll edit this post to add it in.

I finished this one in this cute frame by Jillibean Soup.  I found it at my local Joann store.  I added a bit of brown floral fabric I had in my stash from when Stampin' Up! made fabric (remember that?).  I wrapped my cross stitch around a piece of sticky board and then matted it inside the frame.  Simple but cute!  I ended up displaying it in a tobacco basket I picked up at Target.  I add seasonal pieces here throughout the year- it makes a cute background for stitched pieces!

My second piece features A Little Thankful by Lizzie Kate.  I purchased this as a kit and it included a cute tiny charm and beads.

This one is also finished on a frame by Jillibean Soup that I found at Joann.  I matted this with a ruffle of torn fabric I made using another brown fabric from my stash.  This one is also from the Stampin' Up fabric line from long ago...

I love how easy it was to create these pieces using the frames from Jillibean Soup!  I will be getting some more of these for sure!  I may need to update my fabric stash though, lol!  Most of my fabric is nearly vintage!

Watercolored Pear Card

Today I have another fall card for you! I've used the pear image in the Faith in Nature hostess set- a great pick if you ask me! Here is my card:

Goodies:
All products are by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Faith in Nature set
Ink: Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade, More Mustard, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake classic inks; Jet Black StazOn
Paper: Sahara Sand, Peach Parfait, Confetti White cardstock; First Edition DSP; patterned paper by Jillibean Soup
Accessories: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Linen Thread, Spritzer; button- unknown

I watercolored the pear first and then spritzed and inked the background to make it a little more dingy. I think it would be fun to make a whole set of these cards, each with a different image as the focal point. I think that's what I'll do tonight while watching Greys Anatomy or Project Runway... I haven't decided yet which I want to watch! :)

Hope you have a great day!

A Fun Banner Card

Hello!

I wanted to pop on and post a cute little card I made yesterday- My card mojo disappeared for a little bit and I made myself sit down and make something to urge it to come back! :) Here is what I made:

Goodies:

Stamps: Warmest of Wishes hostess set from Stampin' Up!
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Pink Pirouette, Peach Parfait classic inks by Stampin' Up!
Paper: cardstock by Bazzill; patterns by Jillibean Soup and Stampin' Up!
Accessories: letter stickers by KI Memories; die cut by Jillibean Soup; baker's twine, Dazzling Details, Mini Brad, and Crystal Effects by Stampin' Up!

I've been doing lots of fall cards lately but just felt like something different so I went for a fun, springlike pallet instead. It was just what I needed to kick my mojo up and hopefully now I can focus on my next project, Christmas card classes! I can't believe it's that time of year already!

Anyways, hope you enjoy your day!
