Colorful Happy Birthday Card

Hello!

Today I have a card to share with you- I'm in need of a few birthday cards (I'm actually behind on sending them- like January behind!) so I'll be making some more this week! I challenged myself to use Kelly's sketch from Day 1 of her Sketchbook 3 Course to make this... I don't know how well you can see the sketch in my card but I can definitely say that it inspired me!

Goodies:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Create a Cupcake by Stampin' Up!
Ink: StazOn, Basic Grey, Going Grey, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rose Red, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, and Daffodil Delight all by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Crumb Cake, Dafodil Delight, watercolor paper, and First Edition DSP by Stampin' Up!; other patterned papers and cardstock by Bazzill
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Decorative Label Punch, Photo Corner punch, Melon Mambo polkadot grosgrain ribbon, Subtles buttons, Linen Tread, Scallop Edge punch, paper piercer and Crystal Effects all by Stampin' Up!

My little cupcakes are watercolored and then topped with lots of Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkle. I love all the colors in this one!

I hope you are all enjoying your week! It's a busy one for me but luckily I'm finding a little down time here and there to create- it makes even the busiest days a little less stressful.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Crazy for Cupcakes Class

Next weekend I'm teaching a fun class using the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. Here is what we're making:

I've packed a ton of fun techniques into these cards and can't wait to show everyone how easy these really are!

My friend Kristen and I have been trying to put this class together for almost an entire year! Isn't it weird how time flies by so quickly!

We will be making 2 of each of these designs for a total of 10 cards...

And, everyone who comes also gets to take the stamp set home with them as well!

This is one of my favorite stamp sets for birthday cards... I hope everyone else likes it, too! :)

Thanks for peeking at my cards for this class! Hope you are having a fantastic day!

Birthday Wishes Card

Here is the last card I made for the Artisan Awards contest. I love the bright colors with the Soft Suede and Crumb Cake... don't they just pop? Here is the card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: A Little Birthday Cheer, Crazy for Cupcakes
Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Black classic ink
Paper: Soft Suede, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Crumb Cake cardstock
Accessories: Polka-dot Impressions folder, Bermuda Bay Polka-dot Grosgrain ribbon, Crystal Effects, Scallop Edge punch, Dimensionals, Hemp Twine

This one was fun to do- I actually made it for someone's birthday but since I was down to the wire for the Artisan Award deadline, I decided to send it in instead. Hee! The shiny balloons are my favorite!

A Little Late...

Long time, no post! Yikes! Isn't it funny how time flies? We've finally been having some nice weather so I've been doing other things besides crafting... I know...hard to believe, right? Hee! Anyways, I did make this card last week for a Just Add Ink sketch challenge... I just neglected to post it to the ole' blog! Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Ink: Basic Black Classic ink; Versamark
Paper: Whisper White, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Rose Red cardstock
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Scallop Edge punch, Bermuda Bay polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals, Clips Assortment

I wanted a clean and simple look for this card. I had originally stamped my sentiment directly to the cardbase but smudged it pretty bad! Oops! I had to add the banner piece at the bottom to cover my mistake but I like how it turned out even better!

Thanks for popping by today!

Hello Again!

Wow! Time sure flies by when you're having fun! I've been enjoying a new member to our family- baby Seyla Aubry!

My sister gave birth almost two weeks ago and she is the sweetest little girl! Mama, Daddy, and big brothers Asher and Micah are loving her like crazy and doing really well! With a new baby comes lots of visitors, too! Hee! Being so far away from our home state of Washington, we don't get too many of them each year so it's been a real treat!

Since our weekend visitors left this morning for the airport, I decided to relax and spend a little time stamping this afternoon...

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set
Ink: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Rose Red, Bermuda Bay, Going Gray classic inks; Jet Black StazOn
Paper: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Rose Red, Bermuda Bay cardstock; watercolor paper
Accessories: Bermuda Bay polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, Aqua Painter, Scallop Edge punch, Signo White gel pen, paper piercer, Perfect Polka-dots texture plate, Dazzling Diamonds; White Embossing powder

Pretty, right? The colors were inspired by Just Add Ink's first challenge:

I changed them up a little but only because I am all out of Taken with Teal paper! Guess I'll have to order some more in my next box.

I also used a great icing technique straight out of January's Stampin' Success magazine- so cool! I'll be teaching it at my next workshop for sure!

Anyways, time for a little arts and crafts with my kiddos before I start dinner... enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for popping by!

Kristen's Birthday Gift

Good morning!

Today I am sharing a little gift I made for my friend Kristen. Her birthday was last month and of course, I was fashionably late giving it to her... Here is what I made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! (except the frame)

Stamps: Season of Friendship set
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Rose Red, So Saffron, Old Olive classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip cardstock; Maine Blueberry DSP
Accessories: Hemp twine, rubons from last year's Sale-a-bration, dimesnionals; frame from Walmart

Pretty easy gift giving idea really. It is like a card, times three and framed! It was a lot of fun creating it special for my friend... I found the frame at Walmart, chose my colors, and stamped! Hee!

I also made her a card using a paper weaving technique I found in this month's Stampin' Success (SU! demo magazine). Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set, A Little Birthday Cheer set
Ink: So Saffron, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette classic inks; Jet Black Stazon
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Whisper White cardstock; Sweet Always DSP
Accessories: So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Stamping Sponges

The paper weave was pretty easy, too. I'm glad I tried it!

Today I think I'll have some time to stamp so hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some fun new projects to share!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Crazy Cupcakes Card

I've been enjoying playing with my new goodies!! For this card, I paired a set that came out last year, Crazy For Cupcakes, with a new set- The More the Merrier! I saw so many possibilities for The More the Merrier set... It is a level 3 Hostess set and has stamps in there for every occasion! Here is my crazy cupcake card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: The More the Merrier set; Crazy For Cupcakes set
Ink: Jet Black StazOn; Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, Soft Suede classic inks
Paper: Soft Suede, Confetti White, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay cardstock; Certainly Celery textured cardstock
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Dazzling Diamonds, White Signo Gel pen, So Saffron 1/25" Striped grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals

I stamped my background with the new cupcakes stamp from the More the Merrier set. I watercolored them with all the fun colors and added it to my Soft Suede card base. Next I paper pieced the larger cupcakes from Crazy for Cupcakes and sponged around them in the ink of the same colors. I added sprinkles with the Signo and then colored over some of them in colored ink. I added the cardstock strip across the bottom and the ribbon, adhered the cupcakes and added a sentiment. I love the bright colors and the look of the watercoloring!

Thanks for looking today!!

A Simply Sweet Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing my make and take from a workshop I had yesterday. We were focusing on watercoloring techniques and these little cupcakes always turn out sooo cute when they are watercolored! Here is what we made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set
Ink: Black Staz On; Pink Pirouette, Passion Pink, Baja Breeze, Going Grey classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Blue, Kiwi Kiss card stock; Gray cardstock by Bazzill (I need to order more SU!); Candy Lane DSP
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Scallop Edge punch, Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain ribbon

We watercolored using the residual inks on the stamp pad lids... it is my favorite way to watercolor!!

Anyways, simple and sweet today! Have a great afternoon!

No Layers

Today I am posting a card I made last night as a challenge to myself to use only one layer on my card! I've seen so many great, simple, one layer cards lately, This is my cousin's birthday card for next week but I may have to revamp it a little... I'm not sure if this "no layers" thing is for me!! I do love the colors though, and the way the balloons turned out (my first try with my SU! markers!) so we'll see... Here is the card, anyways:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set, Big Deal Alphabet set, ABC Alphabet Lower set
Inks: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze Classic Inks; Black Staz On; Pretty in Pink marker
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze card stock
Accessories: none! I'm kind of sad...

Ha Ha! After editing the first picture, I HAD to add something!! Here is the revamped version...

I also found a home for the heart embellishment that just didn't work for this card. Here it is on it's new card:

Goodies:
All product by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Little Something set
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic ink
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Regal Rose card stock; Sweet Always DSP
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Pewter Build-a-Brad, Rhinestone Brads, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals

Yesterday's Dutch Baby was definitely worth the drive out!!

It came covered in powdered sugar and had loads more on the side along with butter and lemon... SO Good! Their regular pancakes are yummy, too! My girls cleared their plates quickly and we all left happy and with full bellies!

We are taking it easy today... I want to work on some scrapbook pages and check out QVC... I know... pretty nerdy but I swear Lisa Bearnson will be on! Hee!

Have a great day!!

A Crazy Color Challenge...

Today, Kristina Werner posted a new color challenge! She is forever posting cool stuff on her blog! Here is this week's inspiration:

So, Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White! I think these work great together but I was a little shy of them at first... Teal always scares me a little... Here is what I came up with!

My mom's birthday card (I actually made it on time!):

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Season of Friendship set; Cute and Curly set
Ink: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal card stock; Sweet Always DSP, watercolor paper
Other: Scallop Edge punch, Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

The idea for this card came from the December WICKED challenge on Splitcoast. I thought the sketch was perfect for the Season of Friendship set! I typically don't use ovals but I'm glad I tried it out... I stamped the tree and leaves onto the oval. I stamped the bird and flowers onto white card stock and cut them out. I added them next, using some dimensionals under a few of them. I wanted to bring some more teal into the card but the card stock itself was sooo dark! I decided to use some residual ink and my aqua painter to watercolor onto watercolor paper. When it was dry, I stamped my sentiment and punched it out. I think the rest is pretty self explanatory but if you have questions, just ask! I'm always happy to explain anything I make...

Here is my nephew's birthday card (a little late...):

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set; Sprinkles set; Cute and Curly set
Ink: Certainly Celery, Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip Classic inks; Versamark; Timber Brown Staz on
Paper: Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery card stock; Summer Picnic DSP; Bella Rose DSP; watercolor paper
Other: Scallop Square punch, Scallop Edge punch, Curly Label punch, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

So, after failing many times at watercoloring on Whisper White card stock, I finally bought some of the watercolor paper. I am soo glad I did! It really makes a big difference in the blending! I love it!

For this card, I wanted something a little funky and a little less girly since all my cards end up pretty foofy! I think I did OK... The only thing that isn't very easy to see how I did is the scallop around the square in the center. I used the Scallop Square punch to punch four pieces out. I didn't know how big my center should be for them to line up but I guessed at 2 1/2" and it worked perfectly! I just stuck them to the back and lined up the corners and voila!

So, I hope you are having a great day! It is gray and cold here and we are stuck inside today... At least I had time to stamp! Hee!

Crazy for Cupcakes Card

I thought I'd post a card I created last night. I was so excited when I saw this set in the new catalog- who doesn't like cupcakes! I ordered at the beginning of August and finally used it yesterday! I took the colors from the Sweet Always DSP and the design is courtesy of the September WICKED challenge on SCS- here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set
Inks: Basic Brown, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, Apricot Appeal, Regal Rose Classic Stampin' Pad
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White card stock; Sweet DSP
Other: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

I Paper pieced the cupcake together by stamping it 3 times- once on the patterned paper, once on Apricot Appeal card stock, and once on Whisper White card stock. I cut the candle out of the Whisper White image and watercolored the flame with Apricot Appeal ink. I cut out the frosting from the Apricot Appeal card stock and inked around the edges softly with Pumpkin Pie ink. I colored in the sprinkles with Chocolate Chip ink and Regal Rose ink and then added Dazzling Diamonds over the top. Last, I cut out the cup cake wrapper from the patterned paper and inked the edges with Pink Pirouette ink. Paper piecing is a great way to add dimension to a project!

I wanted to share a picture of my sweet Natalie today, too! She is getting so big! I snapped these as I was taking pictures of my cards today:

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for peeking at my blog!
