A Citrus Challenge...

So, last week the Moxie Fab World blog posted a challenge to use this picture from Pottery Barn as inspiration to make a card:

I decided to participate and here is what I came up with:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Upsy Daisy set; Simple Friendship set
Ink: Barely Banana, So Saffron, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, Certainly Celery, Old Olive classic inks; Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White cardstock; Glossy White cardstock, Bella Rose DSP
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Edge punch, So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, Clear embossing powder, Stamping Sponges, Dimensionals

Well, after I was all done yesterday, I took some pictures of the card and none of them turned out... I had to wait for this morning to retake them and what do you know, I missed the deadline for the contest! Oh well!

For the background layer, I stamped the flowers onto glossy cardstock using Versamark. Then I heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. next, I started with my yellows and sponged the ink onto the glossy cardstock. I worked my way down into the greens, covering the entire stamped image. The ink doesn't stick to the embossing powder and really lets the silhouettes stand out! Next, I ruffled my Kiwi Kiss DSP and stuck it to the scalloped edge piece. I stuck this to the background piece and added the ribbon then I stuck it all to a Kraft card base. After I thought I was done, I decided to add a butterfly to the corner. Really, it was because I made a stupid mistake of putting my thumb in green ink and leaving a print on the yellow part of the piece! Hee! Gotta cover those mistakes!

Anyways, I am so in the mood to craft today! I am expecting UPS any minute with my new Stampin' Up! goodies!! I can't wait to see the new incolors in real life!! I have a feeling I'll have a lot to share if I find time to play!!

Thanks for popping by today!

Last Mother's Day Gift Set... I Promise!

So, here is the last of the three sets I made for my 'moms' this year! This one is for my hubby's mom, Cindy. Here it is:

The Group Shot:

The Card:

The Box:

The Card Set:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Together Forever set, Lovely Letters alphabet, A Rose is a Rose set, Upsy Daisy
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip cardstock; Bella Rose DSP
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Half Back Pearls from the Pretties Kit, Whisper White organza ribbon, Dimensionals

I glittered the roses on the card box to add some glitz. I think the rest is just plain old stamping!

Hope you have a great day! I promise I'll post something other then my Mother's Day presents tomorrow! Hee!

A Red Butterfly...

I'm so excited to participate in Kristina Werner's 50th Color Inspiration Challenge! These challenges really get me out of a funk when I'm in one and help me to learn to use my products in different ways! Thanks Kristina for posting such great inspirations!

Here is her challenge for us:

And here is what I made:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Simple Friendship set, Baroque Motifs set, Polkadot Background
Ink: Summer Sun, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise Classic inks; Versamark
Paper: Whisper White, Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red cardstock; Bella Rose DSP
Accessories: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Scallop Edge punch, Piercing tool and guide, White embossing powder, 1 3/4" Circle punch

When I think of this set, I don't think of these colors and I think that's why I chose to use it! Well, that and it was already on my desk... Hee! First, I stamped the background of the cardbase with polkadots in Real Red. I love the look of color on color... it's subtle but gives some texture at the same time! Next I stamped and embossed the swirls stamp from Baroque Motifs on a strip of Summer Sun cardstock. I matted it with Tempting Turquoise, tearing it on the bottom edge. I added another torn edge of the Chocolate Chip polkadot DSP and also a crumpled strip of white with the bottom edge scalloped. I tied my ribbon around it and stuck it in the middle of my card base. I added the friend next. Then I started working on the focal point. I wasn't sure what color I wanted the butterfly to be so I cut out one of each color and accidentally doubled them up and liked the way it looked! I stuck them together using a dimensional and added glitter to his wings. I made a little distressed square for him to live on and added it to my cardbase.

See! With out Kristina's color inspiration, I'd probobly never see a pretty red butterfly! I love it! If you have time, I hope you can participate, too!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friendly Bird Card

I'm so glad that the WICKED SU! demo challenges on Splitcoast Stampers last an entire month! The card that I am sharing with you was actually started last week and I finally finished it up this morning! Funny how that happens sometimes, right? There are usually 3 WICKED challenges a month- a sketch, a color challenge, and a technique challenge. The challenge is to only use current Stampin' Up! products to create your cards. This card was inspired by the color challenge: to use Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla together on a card. Here is what I came up with:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Friends 24-7 set, Fresh Cuts set, En Francais background
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Mellow Moss classic inks
Paper: Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip cardstock; Bella Rose DSP
Accessories: Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Halfback Pearls from the Pretties kit; White Signo Gel pen, paper piercer, Sponges, Dimensionals, Blender pen

I lightly stamped the En Francais background onto the card base. Then, I used sponges to add Mellow Moss ink to the edges. I pierced holes around the outside and added faux stitching with the Signo gel pen. Next, I added my patterned paper, tearing one edge. I added a torn strip of Mellow Moss cardstock and a punched Chocolate Chip strip to the card base. I then added my ribbon. For the main image, I stamped the background using Mellow Moss ink on to Very Vanilla cardstock and inked around the edges using a sponge. I stamped the bird with Chocolate Chip ink onto Mellow Moss cardstock and cut him out. I then stamped the same image onto Very Vanilla cardstock and added a little color in the branch using residual ink and a blender pen. I cut the branch out and stuck it to my main image. Then, I added the bird, using Dimensionals to pop him up. I matted the whole thing in Chocolate Chip cardstock and adhered it to my card base. Next, I stamped my sentiment over the damask design on Very Vanilla cardstock and added Mellow Moss ink around the edges with a sponge. I also matted this in Chocolate Chip cardstock and adhered it to the card base with Dimensionals. Last, I added the halfback pearls in the corners of my main image. It just needed a little extra detail!

It is a rainy day here and I'm happy to be stuck inside! I have lots of ideas for cards in my head today and hopefully I can get some out on paper before they disappear! Hee!

Hope you all are enjoying your day!

Cute Little Love Birds...

I love the little birds from the Cheep Talk set by Stampin' Up! They are just so stinkin' cute!! I played around with them a little last night and here is what I came up with:

Paper: Whisper White, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, and Riding Hood Red card stock; Pacific Point textured card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: Scallop Edge punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

Not too many tricks here... I decided to add a little word bubble with the heart for some fun... Little Love Birds! Hee!

A Crazy Color Challenge...

Today, Kristina Werner posted a new color challenge! She is forever posting cool stuff on her blog! Here is this week's inspiration:

So, Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White! I think these work great together but I was a little shy of them at first... Teal always scares me a little... Here is what I came up with!

My mom's birthday card (I actually made it on time!):

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Season of Friendship set; Cute and Curly set
Ink: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal card stock; Sweet Always DSP, watercolor paper
Other: Scallop Edge punch, Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

The idea for this card came from the December WICKED challenge on Splitcoast. I thought the sketch was perfect for the Season of Friendship set! I typically don't use ovals but I'm glad I tried it out... I stamped the tree and leaves onto the oval. I stamped the bird and flowers onto white card stock and cut them out. I added them next, using some dimensionals under a few of them. I wanted to bring some more teal into the card but the card stock itself was sooo dark! I decided to use some residual ink and my aqua painter to watercolor onto watercolor paper. When it was dry, I stamped my sentiment and punched it out. I think the rest is pretty self explanatory but if you have questions, just ask! I'm always happy to explain anything I make...

Here is my nephew's birthday card (a little late...):

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set; Sprinkles set; Cute and Curly set
Ink: Certainly Celery, Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip Classic inks; Versamark; Timber Brown Staz on
Paper: Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery card stock; Summer Picnic DSP; Bella Rose DSP; watercolor paper
Other: Scallop Square punch, Scallop Edge punch, Curly Label punch, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

So, after failing many times at watercoloring on Whisper White card stock, I finally bought some of the watercolor paper. I am soo glad I did! It really makes a big difference in the blending! I love it!

For this card, I wanted something a little funky and a little less girly since all my cards end up pretty foofy! I think I did OK... The only thing that isn't very easy to see how I did is the scallop around the square in the center. I used the Scallop Square punch to punch four pieces out. I didn't know how big my center should be for them to line up but I guessed at 2 1/2" and it worked perfectly! I just stuck them to the back and lined up the corners and voila!

So, I hope you are having a great day! It is gray and cold here and we are stuck inside today... At least I had time to stamp! Hee!

While my girls napped...

I got to play along with Kristina Werner's latest color challenge! That is always fun! Here is her inspirational piece for this week:

So, we were given Bravo Burgandy, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Old Olive to work with.

This week I was able to make two cards!! Here is the first one:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons set; Heard from the Heart set
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, So Safron, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgandy, and Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Ink
Paper: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Bravo Burgandy, and Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Gold brads, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Blender Pens

Here is the second card I did (it's another mini!):

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Fresh Cuts set
Ink: Bravo Burgandy Classic Stampin' Ink; Versamark
Paper: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White card stock
Other: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Dimesnionals, Sticker from Summer Fun SS Pack

I am patiently waiting for a new box of goodies this afternoon! I used to work as the shipping manager at a hotel so I know what the UPS truck sounds like. I've been hanging out outside with the girls and every time I here a truck like that I get excited! Sad isn't it! I finally just came inside... Lucky though because both of the girls napped today so it was almost like I had the house to myself for a little bit! Hee!

Thanks for checking out my cards! I am off to look at everyone else who posted on Kristina's challenge today!

Sharing some more little goodies!

Today I worked on a color challenge Nicole sent me earlier in the week. I decided to make some more mini cards. The are great because the smaller stamped images really stand out! Here is her inspirational picture:

She challenged me to use Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Blue Bayou, Whisper White, and Kiwi Kiss. I really like this color scheme so you may be seeing it quite a few times this month! Here are my little cards:

A quick thank you card:

I confess, I used the new Pacific Point instead of Brilliant Blue... I just love that color!!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Ink: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss Classic Stampin' Ink
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Whisper White card stock; Summer Picnic DSP
Other: Scallop Edge punch, 1/2" Circle punch, Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Paper Piercer

Here is my 2nd card:

I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed the heart with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged Bashful Blue and Blue Bayou ink around the heart to give it some great color!

Ink: Blue Bayou, Bashful Blue Classic Stampin' Ink; Versamark
Paper: Blue Bayou, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: White Grosgrain ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge punch

And here is my last creation! It is a candy holder!

Again, I used Pacific Point instead of Brilliant Blue. I'll try Brilliant Blue later this week to see which I like better! Hee!

A new little one...

This week I've been working on an order for baby announcements! They are so much fun to do! These were simple and sweet, keeping the picture of the beautiful baby the focal point. Isn't she precious!

Goodies:
Stamps: Doodle Flowers set by Inkadinkado
Ink: Basic Brown by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Kraft card stock by Stampin' Up!; chick-a-dee line by SEI; Bazzil Bling card stock
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Dimensionals by Stampin' Up!; gem, unknown
The design is from the June issue of Cards magazine.

I also made this little card this week. I don't make a lot of cards that are not the standard A2 size so I challenged myself to make one smaller. This is 3.5" square. I like how it turned out!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: A Rose is a Rose set
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Brown, and Creamy Caramel classic stampin' ink; Antique Linen Distress Ink by Ranger
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Others: ribbon by Martha Stewart Crafts, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge punch

I am loving the way the roses turned out! These were distressed by crumpling up and then rubbing the Antique Linen ink over the top. I cut them all out and layered them to give it some dimension.

Well, I haven't been very busy crafting this week! We've had some workers putting new heater/air conditioners in and of course they are working in my little scrapbooking corner! It is a mess because I've had to move some stuff around. Hopefully I'll be able to clean the rest up tonight and get my craft on after the girls go to bed!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Some Cards

Just thought I'd pop in and share some cards I've made recently... I am going to be crafting with my Mom and Sister tomorrow! Should be fun! We are going to get a head start on Christmas cards!!

Happiness Blooms Card

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless noted

Stamps: Eastern Blooms set; Heard from the Heart set
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Cameo Coral, and Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, and Pink Pirouette card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Stickles(by Ranger)

I am really happy with the Eastern Blooms stamp set. It seems to have so much potential! For my focal point on this card, I stamped 2 large flowers with Pink Pirouette ink on Whisper White card stock. I stamped a Cameo Coral flower on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and cut it out. I added it to the center of the first piece using a Dimensional pop dot to pop it up. Then I matted the piece in Kraft card stock. For the background, I cut a piece of the Kiwi Kiss Bella Rose DSP to fit my card front. I also cut a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock to fit the bottom part of my card front. I used the branch stamp from the set to stamp on it with Pink Pirouette ink. When it was full of the design, I adhered both pieces to a Whisper White card stock matt. I added a piece of Chocolate Chip ribbon down the seam and then adhered my focal point to the center. I stamped my sentiment along the bottom in Chocolate Chip ink and then adhered the entire piece to my Kraft card base. I really like how these colors came together!

Silly Monkey Card

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless noted

Stamps: Sock Monkey set
Ink: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red, So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad
Paper: Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Confetti White, and Ruby Red card stock
Other: Silver Brads; Dimensionals: Aqua Painter

To start out, I created a card base of Baja Breeze. I then cut a piece of So Saffron card stock to fit the center of my card front. I stamped the balloon repeatedly on this piece with So Saffron ink to make a cute background paper. I also inked the edges with So Saffron ink to add a little dimension. Next I added a piece of slightly distressed (on the edges) Ruby Red card stock. After this, I started working on the little monkey! I stamped him in black ink on Confetti White card stock. I watercolored him with residual ink (left in the top of the ink case after pressing the ink pad to it). I matted this with Chocolate Chip card stock and then added it to the card front. Next, I stamped a balloon with Basic Black ink on Baja Breeze card stock and cut it out. I adhered it to the card front with a Dimensional pop dot and drew in the string with a black pen. To finish the card off, I added two silver brads to one side of the focal point and added the sentiment to the bottom of the card.

OK. I also wanted to share a card I made for a swap I joined on SCS. I originally posted about it here but ended up having to change the size because I felt bad not sending an envelope with the larger card... I just cut it around 3 of the edges so that it was a more standard size.

Gingam Bloom

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless noted

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful set
Ink: Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red
Paper: Whisper White textured card stock; Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: Stickles (by Ranger); Dimensionals, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend! I can't wait to have some fun card making with my mom and sister!!

A Great Day for Cards!!

I am looking out my window as I post this morning and the sky is blue with little pillowy clouds in it. I can't wait to take the girls out to play! I love it when it is so pretty out!

Jeremy has been home all week and instead of having more time to create, I've had less! We've been busy doing so many other things! Today though, I've asked for a little time to create a few cards! I have my Card Creations class tomorrow at Scrapdoodles! and I have one more card to finish for the September class! Hopefully I will be able to post a sneak peak before I leave in the morning!!

Today I am posting the last 2 cards from my upcoming Collector's Club: Dreams du Jour edition class. Here they are!

The class will be held at Kristen's house in Lorton, VA. on September 13th. She is a great hostess! The cost is $30.00, which includes your own set of stamps! If you would like to join us, please send me a message and I'll get you all signed up! It should be a great class!!

OK. Off to enjoy that sunshine before it gets too hot!!

Bella Blooms

I signed up for a demo only swap on Splitcoast Stampers last week. It should be a fun one- I have to make 5 cards and send them to 5 different people and I get 5 back from them every month. I decided to use Bloomin' Beautiful in celebration of it making the new Fall-Winter idea book. Have you seen the new catalog yet? The new sets are great!! I linked it over there---> It is still only the PDF version; Stampin' Up! is revamping their website to get ready for online shopping.

Anyways, here is my August swap card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful set, Polka Dot Background
Ink: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Parasol Pink, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron
Paper: Whisper White textured card stock; Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, and Riding Hood Red card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Others: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter

I watercolored and cut out the flower and bee. You can't see it very well but I added a popped up layer to the flower. I inked around the edges with a makeup sponge. I like the softened look it gives the card. The glitter makes it sparkle a little, too!

I want to share some pictures from last weekend, too! Zoey went on her first roller coaster at the Arlington County fair on Sunday! It was funny because the Travel Channel had on one of their roller coaster shows that morning and we had watched it. When she saw the real one, she was all pumped up to ride it! Here she is with her cousin Micah who absolutely hated it...

Here she is after her ride:

This one makes me laugh, too- Daddy just HAD to take Natalie on the giant slide...

We've been having lots of fun this summer!

Little Zoey in the Window?

I thought I'd share a card today since it's been a while since sharing! I've been playing with a new set that is featured as part of the hostess rewards in the new Stampin' Up! catalog. I thought it was too cute to pass up during the demonstrator preorder season! Doesn't the little girl remind you of Miss Zoey??

Here is my card:

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Window Dressing set and Warm Words set
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Parasol Pink, Kraft, Whisper White, and Lavender Lace card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Perfect Plum, Blush Blossom, and Pretty in Pink Classic Inks
Other: Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch

I first stamped the window on Kraft paper and watercolored it with my classic ink and a water brush. Then I stamped the window on pink patterned paper and cut out the inside- I used the scallop edge punch on the drapes to give them some shape. Last, I stamped the little girl on Whisper White paper and watercolored her. I cut her out, added the background elements of my card and then popped the window up with dimensionals!

I am in the midst of planning my next Collector's Club Classes. If there is a particular set or technique you'd like to see me use, please let me know! I am up for just about anything!!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

My New Goodies!!

I've finally got them and found time to play!! The new in colors are great! And the stamp sets that I chose, I really like! Very versatile and can be used on a number of different projects... Here are a few samples:

This was the first that I made:

Goodies:
All products were by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Dreams Du Jour set
Ink: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss Classic inks
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, and Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose Design Series Paper(DSP)
Other: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop boarder punch

The scallop on the bottom was done with the new scallop boarder punch. It is great! I used to use my corner rounder to do it one scallop at a time so this saves me lots of time! I love it!

Here is another card with another stamp set. It has been getting mixed reviews in the stamping communities... I like it though- it's a monkey! Hee Hee!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sock Monkey set
Ink: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa Classic inks
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, So Saffron, Red Riding Hood Red, and Whisper White card stock
Other: scallop circle punch, spiral notebook punch, hemp twine, dimensionals

I cased this design from this card at Split Coast. I just love the bananas!!

I love how this card turned out. I am partial to orange, since it is my favorite color! Here is the card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sprinkles set; Heard from the Heart set
Ink: So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss Classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron card stock
Other: Scallop Circle punch, 1" Circle punch, Pretties Kit (jewels, dimensionals

OK. My last one is another using the Dreams Du Jour set. I think this will be my favorite out of my sneak peek bunch. The images can be used on so many different projects! Anyways, here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Dreams Du Jour set
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red
Paper: Riding Hood Red and Whisper White card stock; Pink Pirouette textured card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: stampin' glitter, 1/2" circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop circle punch, dimensionals

I made polka dots with my textured card stock to mimic dry embossing. I rocked the stamp in Riding Hood Red after inking up with Pink Pirouette so I could turn the edges a different color.

I hope you like what you see! The new catalog should be great! They have been showing us little sneak peeks in videos and magazines and I can not wait! Less then a month to wait now...

Hope you are all having a great day!
