Card Creations with Tessa!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon finishing off the projects for my upcoming class at Scrapdoodles, 'Card Creations with Tessa'! I am excited about how they turned out! It was fun to get back into the swing of using the store's products rather then my own... I've been on such a Stampin' Up kick lately!!

They have soooo much stuff to choose from there! I used a little bit of everything in my cards:

The Group Shot:

Here is the first one using Cosmo Cricket's new Hello Sunshine line:

This one is all Basic Gray's Euphoria Line:

This one is My Minds Eye with the KI Memories Lace paper:

The last one, using SEI's Dill Blossom

So, if you like what you see, I'll be teaching these on Saturday, August 23rd, at 1:30pm. It will cost $16.00. They are also having a crop that night! Drop by or call the store to sign up, 1(540)548-3788.

Also, check out their blog because they just got the good news that Donna Downey will be teaching classes there in October! Those will fill up fast so sign up soon!

Have a great day!

Am I addicted??

I think I'm addicted to color challenges... They have a way of motivating me to use products that I normally wouldn't use together. Like this- Kristine Werner challenged her blog readers to create a card using this as their inspiration:

It is a beautiful dress, isn't it? The color scheme though? Rose Red, Regal Rose, Sage Shadow, and Whisper White... Not one that I would choose normally but, it was fun to use for this card.

Here is what I came up with:

Goodies:

Stamps: Simply Said set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Sage Shadow, Rose Red, and Regal Rose Classic Stampin' Pads
Paper: Sage Shadow, Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Whisper White card stock by Stampin' Up!
Other: Ribbon by Making Memories; Jewel, unknown; dimensionals by Stampin' Up!

I decided to use a set I've had forever but rarely break out of its plastic, Simply Said. This set was the first I ever purchased from Stampin' Up! I thought it would be great for simple cards... Now that I have so many others, I find that I forget about it a little... Poor little set!

No tricks on this one! The only tools I used were some punches, my water pen (to fill in the little flowers along the side) and a new favorite, the tool that is used to apply decor elements to the wall! It is a great little distresser!!

OK! Hope all you out in blog land have a great day!

July Color Challenge...

For our second month, Nicole and I swapped color challenges. This time I did mine first, and got them done early! Here is the inspiration...

A skirt by Carter's. They make the cutest little girls clothing! So, from this I chose Tempting Turquoise, Lavender Lace and Whisper White as the challenge. Here is what I came up with:

First, my card:

Goodies:
All by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Fabulous Flowers set and Heard from the Heart set
Ink: Tempting Turquoise and Lavender Lace Classic Stampin' Pads
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Lavender Lace, and Whisper White card stock
Other: Pretties Kit (pearl)

I stamped off onto my scratch paper to get the second generation image on my card. It gives it a lighter, distressed sort of look.

And now, here is my page:

Goodies:

Stamps: Fabulous Flowers and Big Deal Alphabet sets by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Lavender Lace Classic Stampin' Pads
Paper: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise card stock by Stampin' Up; purples from the mono pack, Dragonfly, and White textured card stock by Bazzill Basics
Other: Scallop Boarder Punch, Glitter and Dimensionals by Stampin' Up; Letter stickers by Doodlebug Designs

Have you ever used your stamps in your scrapbook?? I love that I can customize a layout to the exact colors I want! I can make my own patterned paper and embellishments to match! It is great!!!

For this page, I did second generation stamping with all the different flower stamps to make my own patterned paper. I created the layout, showcasing Natalie's photo and added embellishments and journaling. The flowers were stamped in versamark and tempting turquoise ink so I could use the heat and stick powder on them. After I heated it up, I added glitter and then heat set it again. Here is a close up of the larger flower. Doesn't the glitter look great!

Anyways, I am having a lot of fun with these color challenges! Tomorrow I have planned to head down to Scrapdoodles and drop off my cards for my upcoming class there! I'll be sure to post a few pictures for all you curious people out there! I hope you all can make it down on August 23rd!

Oh! More news!! Stampin' Up just announced that we will be able to shop online soon! You can order right through my website, any time, day or night! Don't you love that!!

Bye for now,

My New Goodies!!

I've finally got them and found time to play!! The new in colors are great! And the stamp sets that I chose, I really like! Very versatile and can be used on a number of different projects... Here are a few samples:

This was the first that I made:

Goodies:
All products were by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Dreams Du Jour set
Ink: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss Classic inks
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, and Whisper White card stock; Bella Rose Design Series Paper(DSP)
Other: brads, ribbon, dimensionals, scallop boarder punch

The scallop on the bottom was done with the new scallop boarder punch. It is great! I used to use my corner rounder to do it one scallop at a time so this saves me lots of time! I love it!

Here is another card with another stamp set. It has been getting mixed reviews in the stamping communities... I like it though- it's a monkey! Hee Hee!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sock Monkey set
Ink: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa Classic inks
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, So Saffron, Red Riding Hood Red, and Whisper White card stock
Other: scallop circle punch, spiral notebook punch, hemp twine, dimensionals

I cased this design from this card at Split Coast. I just love the bananas!!

I love how this card turned out. I am partial to orange, since it is my favorite color! Here is the card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sprinkles set; Heard from the Heart set
Ink: So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss Classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron card stock
Other: Scallop Circle punch, 1" Circle punch, Pretties Kit (jewels, dimensionals

OK. My last one is another using the Dreams Du Jour set. I think this will be my favorite out of my sneak peek bunch. The images can be used on so many different projects! Anyways, here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Dreams Du Jour set
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red
Paper: Riding Hood Red and Whisper White card stock; Pink Pirouette textured card stock; Bella Rose DSP
Other: stampin' glitter, 1/2" circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop circle punch, dimensionals

I made polka dots with my textured card stock to mimic dry embossing. I rocked the stamp in Riding Hood Red after inking up with Pink Pirouette so I could turn the edges a different color.

I hope you like what you see! The new catalog should be great! They have been showing us little sneak peeks in videos and magazines and I can not wait! Less then a month to wait now...

Hope you are all having a great day!

Rusted Flower

I have been enjoying my new Fabulous Flowers set! Today I decided to use it to play along with Kristine Werner again...

She chose some great colors to challenge us with! I am drawn to these colors naturally. I can't wait for fall! Here is what I came up with:

Goodies:
Stamps: Fabulous Flowers set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Real Rust, Close to Cocoa (inked edges) by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Real Rust, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, and Close to Cocoa card stock by Stampin' Up!
Other: small copper brads by Lasting Impressions; large copper brad by Karen Foster; swirl card stock sticker by Stampin' Up (part of the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' kit); ribbon, unknown (from Scrapdoodles!)

I cut out the layers of the flower out and crumpled them up to give it some texture. I used extra think pop dots to really make it stand out!

This week we celebrated my nephew Micah's 2nd birthday. His mama cut his hair. This is the after...

She didn't cut much off! I am glad! His curls are just too cute!

We are a Krispy Kreme family! Every birthday is celebrated with donuts! This is his cake:

Doesn't it make you want a donut! We got the originals fresh off the line, too so they were still warm! I love that!

Anyways, the week has flown by yet again! I am having my Collector's Club class tomorrow, as well as doing a little house hunting so wish me luck!!

Have a great weekend!

Up to not much...

Hope you all had a great 4th of July! I spent it with my sister in Maryland. We took this picture of the kids. Pretty cute, aren't they! To marrow is my sister's oldest son's second birthday. She has been dreading it because she promised to cut his hair! I don't think she will cut much off. His curls are too adorable! Let me know what you think...

I've been shopping way too much online this week! I am excited though! Mr. UPS should be stopping by my house a couple of times! I am especially excited about the sneak peek goodies from Stampin' Up! That is my favorite part about being a demonstrator- the ability to get them first, and at a discount, too!! Hee Hee!

Today I am sharing a card I made in honor of my friend Sara's birthday. It is today! Funny, I didn't send this one. I sent a different one but this one turned out cuter...

Goodies:
Stamps: Fabulous Flowers set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Lavender Lace, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White (craft), Chocolate Chip by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Kraft and Whisper White by Stampin' Up!; Dragonfly by Bazzill Basics
Others: Ribbon by American Crafts; Gem, unknown

Instead of dabbing my stamp in the ink, I rubbed the ink onto the stamp with the pad. It gave it a washed out look. I kind of like it! I also stamped three images of the large flower and then cut them at varying spots to give it some dimension. The scallops on this were done with my corner rounder but guess what Stampin' Up! is debuting in August... a scallop border punch that looks just like this! I can't wait!

Well, I better stop typing. I am trying to get my next collector's club class projects done by this weekend. They will be featuring the set above!

Have a great day!

Thx. and Something New!!

Well, today I logged on to my computer and was excited to see that Kristine Werner added a new color challenge to her blog! Her blog is a great place for inspiration- check out her videos!

Her challenge was to use this as inspiration to make a card:

Here is what I came up with!

My Goodies:

Stamps: Sprinkles set by Stampin' Up
Ink: Going Gray by Stampin' Up
Others: ribbon and eyelets by American Crafts; letter stickers by Doodlebug; dementionals by Stampin' Up!; corner rounder by Creative Memories

I love these letter stickers by Doodlebug! I only bought them in white and now I am kicking myself because I want more!! They are great on cards and on scrapbook pages!
