Distressed Rose Card
Since the current copy of Stampin' Success is in demonstrators hands, I think it's OK for me to share this card finally. It is a big winner for one of January's SU! demo contests and I am super excited to be in the magazine this month!!! Here is the card (please excuse the bad picture):
Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!
Stamps: A Rose is a Rose set
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Creamy Caramel,Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette classic inks
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla card stock; Candy Lane DSP
Accessories: Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, dimensionals, sponge daubers
I stamped and cut out the roses for this and then distressed each piece using a sponge dauber and some Creamy Caramel ink. I layered the pieces, popping up elements with dimesionals.
I won 3 stamp sets out of the new catalog with this card! It is definitely worth the time and effort to enter!!
Thanks for peeking today!

Finally Home!!
Last week the girls and I finally flew home from Washington state. Although it was nice to see all my friends and family, I am sooo glad to be home! Traveling alone with two little girls isn't so much fun- and the flights coming and going were canceled which left me entertaining them in the airport for hours each time! Yuck!
I was able to relax for the last few days since my nice hubby took a few days off of work. I got the house set up, more or less and got the crafting stuff out!!! Yesterday I spent the day cropping at Scrapdoodles! I finished my cards for an upcoming class. Here they are:
If you are in the Fredericksburg, VA area and would like to attend the class, here is the information:
Date: March 7th, 2009
Time: 1:30pm
Cost: $16.00
Please call Scrapdoodles at 540-548-3788 to sign up! Also, please bring your basic supplies including scissors, adhesive, and a paper trimmer to class.
We'll be showcasing some advanced stamping techniques using Copic markers, heat embossing, and glitter on transparencies. It should be pretty fun!!
I should be back to posting on a regular basis now that I'm home! Have a great day!

The need to create...
The girls and I have been enjoying our visit home. Right now we're visiting my Mom on the Key Peninsula. I didn't bring any of my stamp supplies with me but found a paper trimmer here... Yesterday I stopped at Joannes just so I'd have something to play with! Didn't spend much but got enough to make a quick card. Have you ever tried to create something with just a paper trimmer and paper?? I rummaged through the garage and found some sand paper and Mom had a little ribbon left over from her Christmas cards. The card didn't turn out too bad!
