Wishing You a Happy Heart...

So, I bought this set out of the current SU! mini catalog about a month ago... Here I am, finally using it! I have always loved dandelions so it is right up my alley! I am hoping to make lots of cute Valentines cards with it in February. Today I am using it for Kristina Werner's latest Color Inspiration Challenge! I am so thankful every time she adds a new one to her blog... they are my favorite! Hee! And, if you want to see something funny, check out her pictures and video from Halloween at Stampin' Up! It cracked me up this morning!

Edited to add: I missed the time period... I swear it said Friday!

Trick or Treat!! Blog Candy!!

Happy Halloween out there! We started our day by picking a treat out of the candy bowl... I know, we'll be eating candy all day, right! My girls' sugar highs are pretty serious so the earlier we start, the earlier they should end! Hee! I'll try to post some cute pictures of them in their costumes a little later...

Anyways, I've been wanting to post a little blog candy for all you trick or treaters out there! Last week I reached 10,000 hits and that seems reason to celebrate to me! Thank you to everyone who checks out cards and ramblings. I really do appreciate all your kind comments!

Here is what I'll be sending the lucky recipient:

Live Like You Mean It set (Hostess)
A sampling of ribbons I have...
A pack of Button Bouquet Buttons

If you would like to receive these goodies, please leave me a comment on this post telling me your favorite candy! I'll randomly pick one winner on Monday. Sound good?

I hope you have a fun time dressing up and eating candy today!

Thanks again for checking out the blog,

Gotta Love Swaps!

Last week I had two swap cards due. One for a small group of SCS friends and the other for my Recollections girls! We haven't been able to get together for soo long so it was great to see everyone who came! I ended up making four different cards to choose from on Friday... Here are the winners!

For the SCS monthly swap:

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Always set
Ink: Versamark; Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive Classic Inks
Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy card stock; Holiday Treasures DSP
Other: Silver brads, Scallop Edge Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

This card is a case of my own from earlier this year. I love the way the heart turned out with the blues- I used the emboss resist technique on it. I also love this color scheme- I think it may have been one of Kristina Werner's challenges!

For the Reco Girls:

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs set, Best Yet set(Hostess, Polkadot Background stamp
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Sage Shadow, More Mustard Classic Inks
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White card stock; Autumn Vines DSP
Other: Flower by Prima; Rounded Tab Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Corner Rounder, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch all by Stampin' Up!

I thought I'd make a pocket card since they are kind of special. And, I've had this Autumn Vines DSP since preorder but only used it once so far! I love the colors in it!

And, here are the rejects... although I'm sure most of the Recollections girls would have preferred something a little easier!! (it was a shoebox swap)

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Upsy Daisy set, Best Yet set (hostess)
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Ink
Paper: Kraft, Pirouette Pink, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip card stock
Other: Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, Curly Label punch, Scallop edge punch

Pretty and simple... my kind of card!

One more:

Goodies:
All Products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Best Wishes and More set, Polkadot Background stamp
Ink: Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip Classic Inks
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip card stock
Other: Silver Brad, Scallop Edge punch, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals

I decided to veto this one because of all the cutting... three snowflakes on each card! Yikes!

Anyways, those are my shares for now! I hope they inspire someone out there to get out the ink! Hee!

My Stampin' Girls...

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile! I've just been busy finishing up with some projects whose due dates are getting close! I will have some cards to share this afternoon though! For now, I wanted to share some cute pictures of my little ones with you! My girls are always interested in what Mom's up to... which is usually stamping if I get a free moment... Zoey is always saying "me stamp Mama! Me make cards for my friends. (or Nana or Grandma...)" Anyways, here is Zoey stamping away at some cards last week...

Later that day, I'm typing away on the computer and hear Natalie sneak in behind me. I turn around to this!

What Zoey stamps with, Natalie eats! Hee! Guess I'll be cleaning it up a bit sooner next time!

A Peek at December's Card Class and Swap Announcement!

I thought I'd post these early since they are already done! You'll have extra time to call down to Scrapdoodles to sign up, right! Hee!

These are the cards we'll be doing in December's Card Creations Class:

I thought about doing holiday stuff but it seems like most people will have theirs sent out already! I thought I'd play it safe and do some everyday use stuff. And, any of the greetings can be changed... everyone will be getting their own set of letter stickers to use for the class!

Here are some close up shots of the cards:

Here are the class details:

Where: Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg, VA
When: December 13th 2008
Time: 1:30-3:30pm
What to bring: Your basics... scissors, trimmer, a pencil, and your favorite adhesive

To sign up, call Scrapdoodles at 540-548-3788.

I am also hosting a card swap at the store. Here are the details:

Description: We will be swapping standard (A2- 5.5 x 4.25") size cards. They should be made with lots of layers and at least one embellishment. Please bring only your best work, something you'll be proud of! Any theme is fine, as long as it is something someone else can use.

Quantity: We will try to keep the groups at 8 people, plus one for the store to display. So, 9 cards total.

Deadline: Please sign up by November 15th by calling the store at 540-548-3788. That will give everyone enough time to work on their cards. Cards will be due to the store by December 13th by 5pm. Join us for a crop that night to celebrate and exchange cards or pick up your cards after December 14th. I'll be doing a quick card make-n-take during the crop, too! The crop is $10 and includes snacks and beverages.

It should be a lot of fun so I hope you decide to join us!!

Thanks as always for checking out the blog! I really do appreciate it!

A Quick Challenge Post...

Hi! I wanted to work with the colors from Kristina Werner's color inspiration this week since they looked so great together! Here is the inspiration:

I loved the colors but I had the hardest time coming up with an idea for a card with them! I ended up doing a Christmas card... Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Snow Swirled set, Heard From the Heart set
Ink: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Rose Red, and Basic Black Classic Stampin' Inks; Versamark
Paper: Bashful Blue, Rose Red, Whisper White, and Wild Wasabi card stock; So Saffron DSP (last years...)
Other: White embossing powder, blue ribbon by Lasting Impressions, green ribbon by Creative Imaginations

I heat embossed the tree on the Wasabi paper first and matted. Then I created a background paper with the snowflake stamps and different colored inks. I chose the So Saffron DSP last, added my sentiment and ribbons and voila! Pretty easy holiday card, right!

Anyways, Kristina always puts up the best color challenges! They are by far my favorite!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Colorful Cupcake Card

Hi! Happy Friday!

Ms. Kristine is playing a new Color Inspiration this week so I thought I'd play along! Here is her inspiring piece for today:

I really liked these colors together! I immediately thought birthday and here is what I came up with:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted...

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes set; Sprinkles set; Polkadot Background stamp
Inks: Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, and So Saffron Classic Inks; Jet Black Staz On
Paper: Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Ruby Red, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron card stock; Watercolor paper
Other: Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Scallop Edge punch, ribbon by American Crafts, Liquid Applique by Marvy

Here is a closeup of the cupcakes- can you see the dimension?

I think the liquid applique looks like frosting! Yum! Now I want something sweet... maybe Zoey and I will make some cookies today...

Anyways, hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be busy teaching this weekend- that's the best!

A Little Halloween Treat!

I'm getting excited about Halloween this year! My little girls are both at an age where they like to dress up and I cannot wait to see them out trick-or-treating this year!! In anticipation of cute little girls in costume pictures, I made this little mini book! After Halloween, I can just print the pictures out and add them to this!

Here are some pictures:

This is the cover:

Z is for Zoey and N is for Natalie, my girls:

the 'Too Cute' tag covers up the 'to Spook' part of the title in the picture:

I loved this quote sticker!

Loved this patterned paper:

The last page:

I made this book using one of Cosmo Cricket's blackboard albums. I decorated it with Bazzill card stock and Heidi Grace paper, stickers, diecuts, and rub ons. Some of them are from this year's Halloween line and some are from last year's line that I still had in my stash. The only other thing I used was a 1/2 circle punch to create the scallops and white letter stickers by Doodlebug Designs.

Now I can't wait to take some pictures on Halloween!!

Hope you are having a great day! Thanks for taking a peek!

Fall Friendship Card

I thought I'd post one more time this week since Kristine Werner posted a new Color Inspiration Challenge. I really liked the one she picked so I just had to play along!

Here is her inspiration:

And here is my card!

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Polka Dot Background stamp, Best Wishes and More set, Season of Friendship set
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie Classic inks
Paper: Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip card stock
Others: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Antique Copper brad, Scallop Edge punch, Dimensionals

I stamped the leafs first onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut them out. Then I created the background with polka dots and matted it a few times. I decided to make a little frame for the leaves with more Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip card stock. I used dimensionals to pop them up a bit. I added the ribbon and the scallop on a whim but I like how it looked! Lastly, I used the friendship saying on a little banner looking strip of paper. They did this in the mini catalog and I really think it adds a nice touch!

Anyways, I'll keep this short so I can make her deadline! Hope you all have a great weekend!!
