Another Card Inspired by Project Runway :)
So last week was the finale of this season of Project Runway! I loved it! The outcome was what I was hoping for too- I loved the collection that won! The concept, the colors, the fringe!! So cool!
I was inspired to create a couple of cards based on the winning collection but my attempt of stamping fringe did not work out the way I had hoped lol! Here is one that did turn out though:
I loved Amanda this season and was a little sad that she lost but I didn't like her final collection as much as I thought I would... Maybe because it seemed like a toned down version of her. I'm tacky and loved the crazy quilting and stuff she did! :) Are you going to watch the All Star season that's starting this week? You know I am! I haven't peeked at who's coming back but I'm hoping some of my old favorites will be on again- it's fun to see what they're up to now, isn't it?
Thanks for stopping by today!
I was inspired to create a couple of cards based on the winning collection but my attempt of stamping fringe did not work out the way I had hoped lol! Here is one that did turn out though:
I cut a panel of watercolor paper to 4x 5.5". I watercolored it with black paint, fading the color as I painted up. I let it dry and then cut the notches at the top with a small hole punch. I wrapped some orange twine around the top and ended where I wanted the tassel to hang. I was envisioning this as the back of one of the dresses in the winning collection- wouldn't that be pretty along the shoulder blades?
I created a tassel out of the same twine and adhered it to the card. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with liquid platinum embossing powder. It's acting as my jewelry along with the star sequins that matched the powder perfectly! Hee Hee!

Trick or Treat Card
Hi! Hope your day is going well! I'm hanging out at home today with a sick little girl- no fun! Luckily I'm feeling fine. :) I craft in our family so we are having some movie crafty time- she's already feeling better, too!
Since I had time, I thought it would be fun to play along with a couple of linky parties today! I created this Halloween card using some of my never-seen-ink-stamps and some goodies from SRM:
The stamps are from the Trick or Treat mini set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped the candy corn onto watercolor paper and painted them using my ink pads. I let them dry and cut them out. I splattered the kraft card base with orange ink and then stamped the bat with Staz On. I watercolored him using gray ink.
I added the black sticker stitch next and then the sentiment sticker on a strip of orange cardstock. After they were adhered to the card, I added the pretty purple twine, finishing it in a bow. I added the candy corn next, using foam adhesive to pop them up. Lastly, I added a folded doily underneath the sentiment strip and a few silver sequins to accent it all.
Did you know SRM is hosting linky party over at the Paper Issue blog? There are plenty of options to play along so pop over and check it out! If you happen to use your SRM products, you may as well link up to the current SRM Challenge as well!
I'm also going to link it up to the current Lawnscaping Challenge:
Is it bad that I'm happy about having a lazy sick day today? It was nice- especially after the busy weekend- but I do hope my poor girl is better tomorrow...

Hello Sweater Weather!
Hi! I am playing along with the newest Inky Paws Challenge today! I loved the inspiration photo and based my patterned paper choice on the peppermints. :) I also added a little sparkle! Here is what I made:
Did I surprise you by not making a holiday card? Hee Hee! I almost did but I when I pulled out my newest Newton's Nook Designs stamps, the sweater weather sentiment from the Holiday Hounds set really caught my eye! I had this idea and pulled out the Basket of Wishes stamp set to create the card.
The image has been watercolored- I chose colors that I thought complimented the patterned papers I had already pulled out (Mon Ami by Basic Gray). I stamped the sweater weather sentiment and then decided to add the hello from the Winged Wishes set. I tried to make it look like it was written with a bit of yarn- did you get that?
I chose a bit of warm gold glitter paper as my sparkle- it's the perfect compliment to this fun image, isn't it? Seeing all that yarn is making me want to crochet something! Maybe I'll pull out my yarn later too!
Don't forget to pop over to the Newton's Nook Designs Blog to see what everyone created for the challenge! I hope you'll get a chance to play along as well!

Wondrous Wreath Cards
Hello! Hope you're all having a great week! I have been sick with a cold and keeping a low profile... no fun! Today I'm feeling better though and thought I'd pop on the computer and share a few cards :)
I made these a few weeks ago for my friend Keisha's Stampin' Up! crop. She asked me to teach a class using the Wondrous Wreath stamp and die sets. I wanted it to be good for beginners as well as experienced card makers. Here are most of the cards from the class:
I used a color palate of Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, Sahara Sand, and Whisper White. I added silver in as well, using that beautiful mirrored and glitter cardstocks.
It was fun making a set of cards showcasing what you can do with one stamp set-especially this one! There are so many things you can do with it!
I think the dies are a must have item if you get the stamps- can you imagine fussy cutting around all the details? The words are great, too!
There was one more card in the class but the pictures of it didn't turn out very well. It was the simplest of the bunch anyways so probably less inspiring lol! I so enjoyed creating and teaching these cards! I have another class coming up in November- I'm prepping for it now! Can't wait to share the details...
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a great afternoon!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release- Christmas Delivery
Hello! It's our final day hopping with the Newton's Nook Designs holiday release- wasn't it a fun week? Today's card features another cute set, Christmas Delivery:
I started with a bright red card base. I stamped holly in red randomly over the left side of the card. I added the sentiment and also splattered the base with red mist. When it was dry, I embossed it using a large polka-dot embossing folder.
The image was stamped onto white cardstock and colored using my Prismacolor colored pencils. I fussy cut around it and then added it, along with a few strips of patterned paper to the card front. I added some mini staples and twine to finish it off.

Good morning! Are you ready for another super cute set from the Newton's Nook Designs holiday release? Today's set is Newton's Curious Christmas- featuring Newton!! It's a must have for all of his fans:
I chose the Newton in the tree image for my card, stamping in onto a white card base. I colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I tried stripes this time so he'd look like my kitty Momo. :) I added the stars around him with yellow ink and the sentiment off to the left. Isn't it a fun one?
The papers are from the Echo Park Christmas Cheer 6x6 pad- I am loving it this season!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release-Flaky Family
Hello! Are you ready for the third set in Newton's Nook Designs holiday release? Today we are featuring the new Flaky Family set- it is all about the snowmen!
Flaky Friends is such a fun set! It comes with three different sized snowmen that you can decorate with hats, scarves, and other things to give each one their own personality. There are also doggie and kitty snowmen!
I kept my card simple, stamping out the snowmen and snow doggie onto white cardstock. I colored them with colored pencils and added the sentiment to the top. I also decorated each image with a bit of glitter! It sparkles so nicely under the light!
Cute, right?

Notions Card for the Waffle Flower Challenge
Good morning! Today I'm popping on early to share a card I made for the new Waffle Flower Challenge! There are two challenges to choose from this round:
I went with the second one- I was so inspired to create a card with white space! I wanted to use the Notions set this time and here is what I made with it:
I started with a white card base. I stamped many of the smaller images up the right hand side of my card with some fun pinks, aqua, and orange inks. I left the left hand side blank on purpose. :) I stamped my sentiment onto vellum using Jet Black Staz On ink. I sewed the panel to the stamped card base using pink thread, creating a messy look on purpose.
Well, I hope you have time to check out this round of the Waffle Flower Challenge! There is lots of time to play along and there is a chance to win your pick of Waffle Flower stamp sets too! No excuses hee!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

I stamped the doxie on to white cardstock and colored it using my Primacolor color pencils. I am really having fun with them this week! I fussy cut around him and added him to the tag. I stamped a few light snowflakes around him and the sentiment below so that it looked like he was jumping over it. I added the tag to the card base, adding a brad and some twine for embellishment. The papers, tag, and brad are all by Teresa Collins Designs.

A Spooky Watercolored Kitty Card
Good morning! Hope your day is off to a great start! I can't believe it's already Thursday- not that I'm complaining! I'm looking forward to this weekend! :)
Today I have a Newton's Nook Designs card to share featuring the adorable Newton's Perfect Pumpkin set:
I decided to have a little fun with this cute image, stamping him onto a circle of watercolor paper with Jet Black StazOn ink. I watercolored him using Q-tips! I love how easy this is and how cool it always turns out!
I paired the watercolored image with papers from Bella Blvd. and the vellum from Doodlebug Designs. The spiderwebs stamped on my card base and the sentiment are also from the stamp set.
Well, I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!!

Hedgehogs to Make You Smile
Hello! I'm spending some time in my craft room today! :) I've got Outlander on and Christmas cards on my to do list! Doesn't sound too bad, does it? :)
I have a cute card to share today using a new stamp set I picked up from Stampin' Up! with my last order. I seriously couldn't pass the cute hedgies in the A Little Smile set up!
I stamped them out on watercolor paper with Jet Black Staz On ink. I used my ink pads to watercolor the image and love how it turned out! I cut it out and added it to my card front along with a little patterned paper from my stash. Of course I had to add the embossing, splatters, and twine... they seem to be on all my cards at the moment!
Making this card really did bring a smile to my face! These hedgies are just too cute!
Hope you enjoy your day today!

Creative Blog Hop
Hi there! Happy Monday! Hope yours was a good one! Mine was busy but I can't complain too much! :) I thought I'd pop on tonight and share my post for the Creative Blog Hop! Danielle was kind enough to include me in her nominations last week :)
Here are my answers to the hop questions:
Here are my answers to the hop questions:
1. What am I working on now?
Today I am making samples for an upcoming class! Lots of cute Lawn Fawn goodies, some adorable SRM doilies, and Copic markers are currently all over my desk! I have one more card to go and then I can work on my design team stuff- I have cards due for Newton's Nook, SRM, and the Waffle Flower Challenge soon! I also have a fun card planned in my head that was inspired by last week's Project Runway episode :) Hopefully I can time to make it before Thursday, too!
2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
Well... I feel like I am a unique card maker but I wouldn't say I differ from other card makers- we are all talented, detail oriented crafters who love color, pattern, and stamps, right? :)
3. Why do I create what I do?
For me it's all about fun and smiling! I love smiling! Hee! Patterned paper and cute stamps make me smile big time!
4. How does my creative process work?
I usually think about things for awhile before I start my project. I often get my best ideas in the shower :) I like to work on a clean surface so I try to clean up my last project before starting a new one. When I start, I gather things that I think I'll use and spread them over my oversized table. If I don't have an idea planned already, one usually springs up from the stamps or embellishments I've chosen to go with them!
I'm going to pass on the nomination to these two creative ladies:
I've known Crafty Math Chick for a few years through Newton's Nook Designs. She is so sweet and always makes the cutest things for the release! My favorite are her 3-d items! Her candy apple treat from September was adorable!!
Donna and I have been stamping together locally for years! She has a great style- she creates pretty clean and simple cards and the most amazing cigar boxes! She's always fun to hang out with :)
I hope you've enjoyed the hop! It was fun answering the questions- I wish I could have included a messy shot of my table but well, you know... I gotta keep these cards under wraps for a few more days! :) Thanks for stopping by today!!
