Hello Sweater Weather!

Hi!  I am playing along with the newest Inky Paws Challenge today! I loved the inspiration photo and based my patterned paper choice on the peppermints.  :)  I also added a little sparkle!  Here is what I made:

Did I surprise you by not making a holiday card?  Hee Hee!  I almost did but I when I pulled out my newest Newton's Nook Designs stamps, the sweater weather sentiment from the Holiday Hounds set really caught my eye!  I had this idea and pulled out the Basket of Wishes stamp set to create the card.

The image has been watercolored- I chose colors that I thought complimented the patterned papers I had already pulled out (Mon Ami by Basic Gray).  I stamped the sweater weather sentiment and then decided to add the hello from the Winged Wishes set.  I tried to make it look like it was written with a bit of yarn- did you get that?

I chose a bit of warm gold glitter paper as my sparkle- it's the perfect compliment to this fun image, isn't it?  Seeing all that yarn is making me want to crochet something!  Maybe I'll pull out my yarn later too!

Don't forget to pop over to the Newton's Nook Designs Blog to see what everyone created for the challenge!  I hope you'll get a chance to play along as well!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Spring Card

Hello Spring Card 1

Hello There!  I have a pretty spring card to share with you today using the Easter Scramble set by Newton's Nook Designs.  It's just a small set but boy is it versatile and fun to use!  I went for a watercolored look with it today- stamping the tulips onto watercolor paper and coloring it in with a water brush and my ink pads.  It was fun trying out different patterns on some of the eggs! :)

When I was done coloring them, I added some Wink of Stella glitter to each of them... I know you can't see it... I was trying to wait for a sunny day for pictures but it didn't work out.  I painted in some grass and a little bit of blue around each flower.  Then I added the sentiment- I combined the hello from the Winged Wishes set with the spring from the Easter Scramble set for this look.  Don't they work well together?

Hello Spring Card 2

Check out this set along with all the new spring releases at Newton's Nook Designs!

I don't know about you but in my neck of the woods, spring isn't quite sprung!  I'm ready for it though!  I can't wait to see some of my own tulips come up in the garden :)

Well, hope you have a great day!  Thanks for popping by today!

Inky Paws Challenge with Newton's Nook Designs

Hi there!  Hope you are enjoying your Friday!  I haven't been on my computer much this week- it's nice to take a break every now and then! :)  This week ended up being a lot busier than I was planning!

Anyways, today I want to share my card I created for the latest Inky Paws Challenge from Newton's Nook Designs.  They had another great sketch for us to work with this week:

And here is my card featuring the adorable Boo Crew set:

I added the banner stamp from the Winged Wishes set to create a Halloween party invite.  I loved coloring these images!  I recently found my forgotten colored pencils and gamsol- I am in love!!  I think I might be over Copics and moving on to Prismacolor- I ordered a new set of their pencils this morning and I can't wait to get all the colors!!

The papers I used are by Bella Blvd.  Their Trick or Treat line is one of my favorites this season and just perfect for the cute animals in the Boo Crew set!  They go together so well!

Well, I hope you have time to play along with Newton's Nook Designs this week!  If you do, be sure to upload your card over on their blog for your chance to win a stamp set!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Newton's Nook Designs Launch Party: Winged Wishes

Welcome to day 3 of Newton's Nook Designs Launch Party!!

Today's release is Winged Wishes and what a great set it is!  It features two cute birds that hold the sentiments and other images between them.  It's a really fun concept and I loved creating with this set!

I started by stamping my sentiments and bird onto white cardstock and punching out a large circle around it.  I stamped the birds again onto light blue patterned paper and fussy cut them out.  I pieced one over the bird on the circle.  Next, I created a blue cardbase and decorated the bottom with the fun patterns from the Pebbles Inc. Family Ties line.  I added the twine and the circle using foam adhesive dots.  I stamped the bird one more time onto the card front and added the second patterned bird over it.

There are so many things you could do with this set!  Newton's Nook Designs will be giving it away this week- here are the details:
