Inspired By Project Runway: Episode 2

Hi!  Are you watching Project Runway tonight?  I just pushed play a few minutes ago but I'm enjoying it so far!  :)  Next week's card is going to be so fun!!
I thought I'd better pop on and share my card inspired by last week's episode- the unconventional movie challenge!  I was inspired to use an unconventional product of some sort and ended up using popcorn to stamp my background! I was also inspired by the awesome winning look- I loved all the wires and string hanging down over white with a pop of color.  Here is my card:

Didn't the popcorn create a fun look?  I used Delacata gold ink, (gold like Hollywood!) pressing my popcorn into it and then stamping with it on my white card base.  When it was dry, I added a wrap around velum panel to the top.  I stamped this fun bold sentiment from Paper Smooches Bold Buzzwords set.  I added some black and white striped twine, some peapod green solid twine, and some sequin trim around the card front to mimic the winning looks dangling wires.  I finished off my card with a few fun sequins from Jenni Bowlin Studios.

I think I smiled the whole time I created this card!  I love it when that happens! :)  It might have been the popcorn and candy I snacked on while making it- hee!  Gotta love the movie theme!

A Thanks Card

Hello!  I had a few minutes while enjoying my coffee this morning so I thought I'd pop on and share a card I made over the weekend.  My friends came over and we played with the new Stampin' Up! Blendabilities markers.  Here is what I made:

I enjoyed coloring with the new markers- they weren't like Copics but were easy to blend and the colors were rich and vibrant.  I paired the pretty flowers from the So Very Grateful set with my favorite bread tag die and the new big polka-dots embossing folder from Stampin' Up!  The adorable thanks die is by Lawn Fawn- another new favorite!  The doily and twine are from SRM and the gold mist is by Heidi Swapp.

I love how the coloring turned out!  I'll definitely be playing with them again!

A Slice of Happiness Card

Hi!  I have a fun card to share with you today featuring the cute Sweet Summer set by Newton's Nook Design:

I stamped and colored the watermelon image with Copic markers.  Then I cut out around it.  I created a bright robin's egg blue card base and added a panel of white cardstock to the center of the top.  I added the striped patterned paper next- it's from the Take Note 6x6 pad by Doodlebug Designs.  I stamped my sentiment on the white panel and added a stitched sticker by SRM along the edge of the patterned paper.  I also added a bit of black twine and finished it in a bow.  I added my watermelon last, using pop dots for dimension.

It's so fun and bright!  Perfect for the summer :)  I hope you all enjoy the 4th!  :)

Some Fun News and a Card!

Good morning!  Today is a great day!  Sunny skies, happy kids, and fun news to share!  I am joining a new fabulous design team- a company that I've been a fan of for a long time- SRM Stickers!!  I am so excited to be an ambassador of such a great brand!  I feel like every time they come up with something new it was made just for me!  I really couldn't be happier!

I've already started designing some projects for them!  I thought I'd share one today with my fun announcement. :)  Here is a card I made using some of my favorite SRM products:

My card features an awesome sentiment sticker, some honeydew baker's twine, and an adorable mini clothespin!  They go great with this fun typewriter stamp, don't they?  The stamp is from a new company called Pink Bow Ties.  Meka, the owner, is a local lady and we share a love of typewriters!  This one is big and bold and I love it!  The inks and patterned paper are from Stampin' Up! and the border sticker is from Bella Blvd.

I am so excited to be part of the SRM team this year!  I can't wait to see what they have in store for us!

Be Awesome Card for Gallery Idol Round 3!

Hi!  I am so happy to be playing along with Round 3 of Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine's Gallery Idol Contest!  This round is all about stencils!  I love playing with stencils and had lots of fun with this challenge!  I pulled out my all time favorite stencil sheet for this card:

I think the days of the week stencil from the Basically Essential stencil pack #2 by Teresa Collins Designs is so cute!  I was inspired to use it because of this fun sentiment by Mama Elephant.  It was sitting on my desk and I thought they'd be a perfect pair!

I used  the Basically Essential modeling paste by Teresa Collins Designs over my stencil and let it dry.  Next, I pulled out some of my Stampin' Up! ink pads and watercolored over the days of the week using 2 colors for each day.  The bright colors are so pretty and vivid in real life!  I love the way they look over the kraft card base.

I cut a piece of vellum into a circle and then stamped my sentiment using Staz On ink.  I added a scallop border along the bottom (Lawn Fawn paper and Reverse Confetti die) and then wrapped a bit of twine from SRM around it, ending in a bow.  I added a few epoxy hearts from We R Memory Keepers to embellish my sentiment.

It has been so fun playing along with the Gallery Idol contest this year!  Thanks again for all your votes and cheer leading!  I love reading the kind comments you've left here, at the contest page, and on Facebook- they really mean the world to me!

If you'd like to vote for me again this round, I'd love it! Pop over to the Gallery Idol Contest page to vote and to check out the rest of the entries!  Such beautiful work!!

Hope you have a great day!

You're Fan-tastic!

Hi!  Hope your week is off to a good start!  My Monday ended up not being what I expected- I have a sick girl home from school!  Instead of running errands and getting the weekly grocery shopping done, we are watching a Zoey picked movie marathon and sticking close to the bathroom :(  At least she's picking some fun movies to watch!

I thought I'd pop on and share a card I made recently using the adorable Fan-tastic stamp set by Technique Tuesday.  I just had to have this set- the sentiments are the best!!  Here is what I made:

I combined the adorable stamps with cardstock from Bazzill, Patterned paper from Lawn Fawn, and vinyl and twine from SRM Stickers.  Did I say vinyl??  Yes!  I stamped the fan on the stainless steel looking vinyl with Staz On ink and fussy cut around it!  It gives it a great shiny metallic look- I love it!

The sequins are also from Lawn Fawn.  They have the cutest sequin packs!  I added a sprinkling of them so it would look like they were blowing in the wind!

Well, hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!

You're Dyno-mite!

I love the new Prehistoric Pals stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs- it is so fun and unique! The little dinosaurs are adorable and so are the sentiments!  On today's card, I used the tyrannosaurus rex image to create a simple scene:

Isn't he cute in pink?  :)  I used some of the other stamps in the set to create the background.  I stamped the grass in black and watercolored them using green inks.  I stamped the palm in the background using a very light ink.  I colored it in lightly with watercolors so that it would look far away.  I also added some shadows under the dino.

The plaid paper is from Doodlebug Designs and the cardstock is by Stampin' Up!  The pink twine is from The Twinery and it matches the paper and the dino perfectly!

Well, thanks for popping in today!

Future is So Bright Cards for Avocado Arts

Good Morning!

Today I have another set of card for you using Avocado Arts' new Future's So Bright set! This set is seriously cute! This time I put a girly spin on them and love how they turned out!

This lightbulb stamp might be my new favorite!  I think it is so cute and love that there is a little heart inside!  For this card, I stamped it onto yellow cardstock and fussy cut around it.  I wanted it to be my focal point so I built my card with that in mind.  First I created a bright pink card base and added a white panel to the center of the front.  I stamped the stars with SU! Pink Pirouette ink in the background and then added a panel of patterned paper from the Sweet Girl 6x6 pad by Echo Park.  I cut a tag out of blue paper and stamped the rays on it with Versamark.  I embossed it using white powder.  The sentiment is stamped onto pink paper and cut out in a banner shape.  I added the lightbulb over the rays using a pop dot and adhered the tag to the card front.  I added the sentiment and finished it off with a little pink baker's twine at the top of my tag.

Don't the rays look great embossed?  I wanted them to really shine against that blue background and the white embossing was just the trick!

For my second card, I had something simple and fun in mind:

I chose some fun colored inks and stamped the shades image up the side of a white cardstock panel.  I simply added the sentiment and adhered the panel onto a bright pink card base to finish this one off!  It was so quick but I love how it turned out!

I have truly enjoyed my guest spot with Avocado Arts!  Thanks again for letting me stamp with you this month!  If you get a chance, check out their store and Facebook page- they share lots of fun things there!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for taking the time to stop by today!

Hello There Card

Hi There!

Here it is the last day of April- can you believe it?  Spring seems to be flying by this year!  I'm busy making all my summer plans and I'm pretty sure that it will be just as busy!  I love making plans! :)

Today I want to share a fun card using a mix of different products:

I've mixed stamps from Paper Smooches, Studio Calico for Hero Arts, Stampin' Up! and Teresa Collins Designs on this one!  Can you pick them all out?? :)  I had bunches of stamps on my desk when I was doing some organization and this just sort of happened!  I'm happy with how it turned out and will have to mix up my stamps more often!

Everything is stamped on this card except for the one strip of orange striped patterned paper.  I colored the telephone with Copic Markers and pieced it onto the chevron stamped oval.  The splatters in the background were created with white Dylusions mist- my new favorite white mist!

Well, better get back to my day!  I have quite a long list of to-dos and not much time to get through them all!  :)  As always, thank you for stopping by to see what I've been working on!

A Friendship Card

Hi again!  Today is my cleaning day but before I got started, I thought I'd pop on and share a card! This is another one I did last week, just after I got my DT goodies!  This one features the new Summer Stories line by Teresa Collins- this time I used the papers from the 6x6 pad:

The dandelion stamp is from the Summer Stories stamp set and the sentiment is from the Feel Goods set by Stampin' Up!  I've embellished it with the Sticker Stitches by SRM Stickers and pink baker's twine by The Twinery.

This sentiment set by Stampin' Up!  is such a good one!  I was so happy when I saw that it would be returning in the new catalog!  I seriously can't wait until we can order from it!!  I'm trying to be good about my spending now so that I'll have a little extra come June!  Hee!!

Anyways, I guess I better get started on the cleaning!  Lol!  Oh the life of a mom!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

A Disney Themed Graduation with SRM Stickers!

Hello and happy Friday!

I have another little sneak peek for you today!  I'm guesting over at the SRM Sticker blog again- this time with a fun, Disney themed graduation set!

I was inspired by my own graduation present- tickets to Disneyland- for this little trio of projects!  I figured I couldn't have been the only Disney loving graduate out there, right?  :)  I think it's pretty fun to custom make cards for people, too- that's the great thing about SRM Stickers- they fit any theme or style!

To see my three Disney themed projects, please visit the SRM Stickers blog!  Don't forget to leave a comment because they are giving away a set of the goodies I've used to create my projects!  They are so generous and I can't say enough how thankful I am for a guest design spot on their blog.  I truly enjoyed making each of my projects for them!

Little Birdie Projects for SRM Stickers

Good Morning!

Today I'm excited to share that I'm guest designing for SRM Stickers!  I used some of my favorite products from their current line to create a trio of fun, bird themed projects!  Here is a little peek:

I created three projects for them using their amazing stickers, glassine envelopes, and tubes.  My favorites are the Stickers By the Dozen Sheets because so many come on one sheet!   The 'Thank You' seen above is a great example- it is the perfect size and I love the fonts!  I am also in love with their glassine envelopes and clear pillow boxes.  They add a special touch when giving out goodies to my friends and family!

Please pop on over to the SRM Stickers blog to check out my projects!  Susan is also giving away some of the goodies she sent me to use so be sure to leave a comment there for your chance to win!!

It has been so much fun creating for SRM Stickers and I am so thankful for the opportunity!  Thanks again Susan! :)

Another Sweet Bird Card

Hi there!   Our snow melted overnight and it is sunny and pretty outside!  Yay!  It's feeling a little more like spring break today, even if it's still pretty cold out! :)  With springtime on my mind, thought I'd share another spring inspired card with you this morning:

This card uses the same recipe as yesterday's card!  I've paired the adorable For the Birds set with another pattern from the  new Tea For Two DSP pack from Stampin' Up!  The image has been watercolored with my ink pads and a water pen.  I've added a little sparkle by flicking Studio Calico Shine spray over the card.  Shine is seriously a color I couldn't live with out... I'm getting ready to buy my second bottle all ready!  Something else that has become a staple in my craft room is the great baker's twine by The Twinery!  I have been using it on every card lately and seriously love it!

Aren't those little birds cute!  They were fun to watercolor.  I have one more card in this little set to share with you this week!

Well, I hope you are enjoying your day!  We are expecting some fun company any minute! My dad and step mom are visiting with us the rest of the week!  I am so excited and these girls seriously can't wait!  They are excited to do crafts and go on treasure hunts with their Nay Nay and Papa! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Kind Memories Card

Hi there!

I am just sitting down after cleaning my house... not my favorite way to spend the morning but it has to be done!  I like to get the main cleaning done on Thursdays so that the weekend can be spent having fun and messing up the house again! :)

I thought I'd pop on and share a pretty card I made using the Memories line by Teresa Collins:

For this card, I used all of my current favorite things!  The embossing folder is new from Stampin' Up!, the papers, flower stamp, and epoxy dots from the Memories line, and twine from the Twinery!  The color scheme is also a favorite at the moment- I am loving that light aqua and yellow with the bold coral!

I added a little glitter to the center of the flower that you can't see in the photo- it adds a little touch of sparkle to it though!

Sharing this card makes me remember- I think I mentioned that I was taking a class with Teresa Collins a few weeks ago at the retreat I went to.  I can say, the class was the most enjoyable class I have ever taken!  We made mini books and I was able to finish it with ease and can't wait to add my pictures!  Teresa is a such a nice person and even though every scrapbooker around knows her name, she is easy to talk to and so kind!  She walked around and talked to lots of people at the retreat after her classes were finished and took the time to let them show her what they were working on.  She took pictures and signed autographs- even for me! Hee!  Yes, I had to go fan-girl and get a picture! :)

If you ever have a chance to take a class with Teresa, don't hesitate!  It was fun and so enjoyable and I am hoping she'll come out for our next retreat in November!

Writing this story makes me want to run downstairs to scrapbook!  Maybe I can work on my 'meeting Teresa Collins' page! :)

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Thanks, You're Awesome!

Hello!

How is your week going?  Mine is going fast!!!  I am in disbelief that it is Thursday!  Of course, I had lots to do this week and got nothing done.  Monday was spent on recovering from my awesome weekend at the Scrapdoodles Retreat!  I had the best time I've ever had at a crop!  My friends and I seriously laughed the entire time- it was wonderful!!  If you are in Virginia or willing to travel, these crops are great!  They sell out fast though- there is already a waiting list for the November one!

Tuesday I was out of the house all day helping out at the store and the last two days were snow days!  You can't beat snow days, especially in March! :)  The girls played outside a lot yesterday and I have a feeling today will be a movie, craft, and games day... The snow will probably be all gone by tomorrow and it is supposed to be in the 60s by Sunday!  Can you believe that?  Crazy weather!

Today I have a card I made over the weekend using some new goodies from Lawn Fawn and a flair button from Bossy Joscie:

One of the best things about cropping with your friends is that you get to borrow their cute stamps!  My friend Kristen picked up the A Little Birdie Told Me set along with the matching die from Lawn Fawn and let me use it for this card.  I stamped the bird onto the plaid patterned paper as well as white cardstock.  I colored the one on the white cardstock with my Copic markers and cut him out.  I pieced him on to the plaid paper and added some shadowing with my markers to finish it off.  The sentiment is from the So Much to Say set by Lawn Fawn and fits perfectly into the speech bubble.  Once my stamping was done, I embellished my card with a strip of yellow polka-dot washi from Queen and Co. and wrapped it with some Caribbean twine from The Twinery.  I finished my card off by adding the cute 'Thanks' flair button by Bossy Joscie.

I'm happy I finally got to pick up some of Joscie's flair!  Isn't it fun?  I love the look and definitely need more!  The vintage book print and security envelope buttons are calling my name! :)

Anyways, better finish up here- the girls are wanting to build a fort and need my table!  I think I'll surprise them with some homemade cookies, too!  I love snow days!  Hee!
