Vintage Snowflake Card

Hello!

Monday... always a busy day around here so I thought I'd pop on and share a card early!  This one features some fun stamps from Stampin' Up!

I've used the Hello, Doily in the background and added Bold Snowflake to the top.  I love that the Blossom punch fits around it perfectly!  The patterned paper is from Simple Stories while everything else is made by Stampin' Up!

Can you see where I splattered Champagne shimmer paint in the background?  I added a little it for a little sparkle along with the tiny glitter paper flower in the center of the snowflake.  I also used my glitter pen on the snowflake itself.  It is really sparkly and pretty in real life!

Well, hope you have a great Monday!

Evergreen Cards

I went to a great crop last weekend sponsored by my Stampin' Up! demonstrator Keisha.  I had a great time and while there, I borrowed the Evergreen set from my friend Joy. I'm so glad she brought it!  I ended up making two cards:

Isn't that tree pretty?  On both cards, I stamped the bottom layer with Gumball Green and the second layer with Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder.  If you try this layering technique, make sure to use your embossing buddy between layers- it was the key ingredient!  Without it, the embossing powder will stick to your green ink, even if it feels dry.

I love going to crops!  I love having other crafty people around me and seeing everything they create.  I also love it when friends share their supplies! :)  Thank you Joy!

Another Sunny Skies Card

Yes, two posts today!  I created a second card for the Lawn Fawn CHA challenge.  Here it is:

Another clean and simple card!  I added some embossing to the background for a little texture and the white has been heat embossed using white powder.  It really didn't take too long to do, either!

Well, I hope you are enjoying your day!  If I get anymore cards done, I may be back again later! :)

Sunny Skies Card

One of my favorite stamp companies is Lawn Fawn.  They are currently running a challenge to create cards they can display at CHA in January and I thought I'd make a couple. :)  The challenge for me was not using patterned papers!  I realize that I rely heavily on patterned paper when creating so cutting that from my routine was tough! I did it though and here is the first card I made using the Sunny Skies set:

I kept my design simple so that the stamps would really stand out.  They are nice and crisp and clean!

I do love this stamp set!  Even if they don't get picked for the challenge, I'm so glad I had time to play along this week!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Bird in the Snow Card

I thought I better share a holiday card before the holidays are over!  It seems the season is already going so fast!  I've been pretty good about getting things done and only have a few more things to pick up... I also started a few handmade presents that I know I'm going to have a hard time finishing in time... ever make an afghan?  :)

Anyways, here is a card I made and am teaching at a card class on Saturday:

Goodies:
Stamps: bird and sentiment by Lawn Fawn
Ink: Whisper White by Stampin' Up!, Onyx Black Versafine; copic markers to color the bird
Paper: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze cardstock by Stampin' Up!
Accessories: red baker's twine by We R Memory Keepers, Dazzling Diamonds glitter by Stampin' Up!

Funny but I've been thinking about this card since the summertime!  The idea came from this card- stamping with a pencil eraser was fun and I thought it would work well with white ink for winter :)  I also think it would look great on kraft cardstock... I love white ink on kraft!

The glitter adds just a touch of sparkle on this card.  Looking at the picture now, it doesn't really show it much.  I think my picture taking skills are a little rusty...

Well, I hope you are enjoying the holiday season!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

For the Birds Christmas Card

Hello!
The weeks are just flying by, aren't they? I am a little shocked that Thanksgiving is already next week! With the holidays fast approaching, I thought I'd pop on and share a Christmas card I made! I used the For the Birds set by Stampin' Up! Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: For the Birds set
Ink: Basic Black (pad), Real Red, Marina Mist, Gumball Green, Pear Pizazz, So Saffron (markers)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla Cardstock; Festival of Prints DSP stack
Accessories: White Signo gel pen, Gumball Green Sweater trim

The patterned paper that I chose from the Festival of Prints stack was so crisp, I decided to keep my stamping crisp and clean, too. I colored the bird with my Stampin' Up! markers and added some white with the White Signo gel pen. I don't think it turned out too bad for my first Christmas card of the season! :)

Hope you are enjoying your day! Thanks for stopping by!

My New Class Series- Feast Layout

Good Morning!

I am teaching a new class down at Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg! It is a technique based layout class and I will be focusing on a new product, technique or style each month. This month we will be playing with mists! With so many different brands on the market, I'll show you what the main differences are while creating two new layouts! Here is one of the samples from my class:

And here are a few shots of the details:

This layout features the new Color Shine mists by Heidi Swapp. They are beautiful and so shimmery! This one- Gold Lame is my favorite! It went wonderfully with the pictures of last year's Thanksgiving feast! My sister put out quite the spread- here she is with her beautiful turkey, fresh from the oven. My favorite of the day though was her cupcakes! She decorated them to look like Thanksgiving dinner!  So cute and they tasted even better then they looked. :)

I am really excited for this new opportunity to teach! If you are in the area, I hope you can join me! For more information on the class, please check out my post on the Scrapdoodles Blog.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
