A Whaley Great Christmas Card

Today I'm heading down to Richmond for a scrapbooking retreat with Scrapdoodles!!  I am so excited!  I've packed way too much but I can't wait to get creative!  Before I hit the road, I thought I'd pop on and share a card I created using Newton's Nook Designs new SEA-sons Greetings set:

I love the idea of a nautical Christmas!  A lot of my friends love everything nautical and I'm planning a few special Christmas cards just for them this year!  I created a card base out of Soft Sky cardstock and added a strip of blue and white polka-dot paper to the bottom to look like water.  I stamped that cute whale onto the same cardstock and shaded him with Copic markers.  I stamped, colored, and cut a hto out for him as well- this is borrowed from the Newton's Holiday Mischief set.

I stamped the silly sentiment onto red patterned paper and added some faux stitching to the top.  I adhered it to my card, along with the whale and then added a few snowflake sequins for a little sparkle.  Can you believe that these are from my stash?  I bought them 6 years ago and they are from Doodlebug!  Hee!  They are making a comeback! :)

To finish my card, I added a lengle of heavy cording tied in a knot.  Doesn't it fit right in to the theme? I love it!

Well, I better head out the door!  I love retreat weekends!!  I'll try to pop on Monday morning and share the cards from my class tonight!

Thanks for stopping by!
