Happy Birthday Susan!

Hello!  Today I'm hopping along with some fun crafty friends to celebrate someone amazing- Susan McShirley!  Happy Birthday Susan!!

If you don't know Susan, she is the lady behind SRM Stickers.  She is an awesome lady- a great business woman, a kind friend, and a cheerleader for the craft industry!  I have loved getting to know her!

For the hop, we each made a special birthday card for Susan- here's mine:

I had my eye on this bright, cheerful zig zag patterned paper from Some Odd Girl.  I went with lots of white so it would really stand out!  I picked out the little chickie and sentiment from the Stickers By the Dozen: Birthday Birdie Sticker Sheet to feature on my card- isn't the little chick so cute!
A little embossing, a doily, some silver floss and vellum are all in the details of this card:

I'm so glad we get to celebrate with Susan today!  Pop through the rest of the hop to see what the other ladies made for her as well!  Don't forget to leave Susan a happy message on her own blog as well- you can find her at the SRM Stickers Blog.

Tessa Wise (that's me!)

I hope you enjoyed the hop and thanks for stopping by!  Happy Birthday Susan!!  :)

Thanks a Bunch Card

Hi!  How's your week going?  Mine is going by fast!  We didn't have much planned and some how it cruised by even faster than usual!  Hopefully the weekend will go a little slower :)

I have a card featuring some happy and cute Waffle Flower Stamps to share with you today!  I used the fun new Willy & Friends Stamp Set on this one:

I stamped that cute monkey out onto watercolor paper and colored her using my aqua pen and residual inks from my ink pads.  I stamped the sentiment bubble in the corner and then set it aside to dry.  I used the banana stamp to create a fun background on my yellow cardbase.  Then I layered some bright patterned paper by Doodlebug Designs along the bottom.

I embellished with a few epoxy dots and some more cute stamped bananas :)  Aren't they fun?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Anniversary to Newton's Nook Designs!

I'm so excited to be celebrating with Newton's Nook Designs today! Can you believe it's been two years of inky paws already?  Two years and their designs are only getting cuter!  I love Newton and all his little pals! :)

I got to play with their new Summer Scoops Stamp Set- it's so cute!  Here is what I made with it:

I love this little image- it reminds me of Rita's Ice!  Have you ever had one?  I love them!  I stamped the image and then used a cool technique to stamp the mirror image of it.  It is an easy technique.  You just need a pretty solid acrylic stamp that is bigger than the image.  Using Memento ink, stamp the image onto the back of the acrylic stamp and then stamp that image onto your paper.

I colored them both in using Copic markers in the colors I pulled from this adorable patterned paper by Doodlebug Designs.  It is so bright and summery!  I put my card together, popping up the middle panel of patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment onto an oval and then added the colored images.  I added them with more dimensional foam adhesive and finished it off with a couple of cute sequins.

Now that you've seen what I made, check out the rest of the hop and win some prizes!!

Birthday Calendar and Card Organizer for SRM Stickers

My last blog post for SRM Stickers went live this morning.  I'm sad to be leaving their team but will be going back to school for my master's degree in August!  I needed to cut back- I'll have homework to fill my fun crafty time for the next couple of years!

Anyways, here is a peek of what I made for SRM this month:

The calendar is changeable for every month so that you will always be ready for the current month's birthdays!  And you can store the cards for that month in the card sized clear box.  I think this might help me get organized for the next year!  For more pictures and details on what I used, pop over to the SRM Blog to read all about it!

Thanks for popping by today!

Sorry- I was in town visiting the museums today when this was supposed to have gone live- I'm a little late but it's still Wednesday lol!

I have a Watch It Wednesday Video up on Waffle Flower Crafts today!  It features one of my favorite stamp and die sets- Riverside:

I created some layering with my stamps and dies.  The sentiment is created with the Congrats Die and Congrats Stamp Set.

A Fishy Card Set

Hi!  I have a fun card set to share with you today!  I am a big fan of beachy stamp sets and recently pulled out a bunch of Lawn Fawn ones I had to create a card set for a friend:

This cute little fishy was colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The papers are by Doodlebug Designs- I love the colors!

The second one was stamped with navy and paper pieced together:

The papers from this one are a mix of Bella Blvd and Lawn Fawn.  I'm a sucker for cute patterned paper!

The third is also colored with Prismacolor pencils and features more paper from Bella Blvd.:

I added a few freckles to Mr. Crabby with a white Signo pen.

Here is my last one:

The whale was colored with Copic markers and shaded with Prismacolor pencils.  I love to mix them together!  The papers are Bella Blvd again and that awesome banner die is from Lawn Fawn.

This set was seriously fun to create!  It made me want to go to the beach, too!  lol!  :)

Missing My Marine Cards

I had a sweet request for a few cards last week from a girlfriend who was missing her marine currently serving our country overseas.  I didn't have any military specific stamps which gave me a bit of a challenge and maybe even made this assignment more fun! :)  Here is what I came up with for her:

I used some Lawn Fawn stamps for this one, keeping the design simple so the sentiment would stand out.  It was really hard not to add doilies and sequins to these cards!  lol!  I am not a good man-card maker :)

My second card also features some Lawn Fawn goodies!  This one took a turn towards patriotic :)  I love how the map looks in red white and blue though!

The last one is a mix of Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle stamps.  It's also pretty patriotic.  I added a few hearts- hope it's not too girly for him!

It's always fun to get a request for something fun like this!  I hope they like them!

A Butterfly Birthday Set for SRM Stickers

Hello!  I have a project up on the SRM Blog today!  I thought I'd share it here with you all too! :)  I have a little birthday gift to give out soon and thought it would be fun to package it up in a new Rustic Linen Bag.  I made a matching card while I was at it:

The new, adorable, Rustic Linen Bags are the perfect size for a small gift like jewelry or a bottle of nail polish.  They are already decorated with some pretty vintage-looking ribbon so all I did was tie it closed with some Strawberry Baker's Twine and add a tag.

The tag was made using the Jane's Doodles Life is Good Clear Stamp Set.  I stamped the tag in black ink and then stamped butterflies up one side using 3 different pink inks for an ombre effect.  I cut out the tag and then added the sentiment from the Sentiment/Happy Birthday Sticker Sheet.

For my card, I decided to mirror the tag with the ombre butterflies.  I stamped them up one side and then splattered some peach mist over them.  I added some gold striped vellum to the bottom and wrapped the card front with more of that pretty Strawberry Baker's Twine.

I picked another sticker from the Sentiment/Happy Birthday Sticker Sheet and adhered it to some white cardstock.  I cut it into a square shape and matted it in coral cardstock.  I adhered it to my card with some dimensional foam adhesive.

Don't you think it's fun when the card matches the packaging?  I love it and I can't wait to give it to my friend!

Coloring Fun Blog Hop with Waffle Flower Crafts

Hello!  I'm happy to be hopping along with Waffle Flower Crafts today for their Coloring Fun Blog Hop!  There are a bunch of us hopping along and of course there is a chance to win a prize!! :)  Fun, right?

Since it's Shark Week, I used the fun new Tiger & Lily Stamp Set for today's card!  I pulled out my colored pencils and gamsol to color with:

When I color with colored pencils, I like to use Memento ink because it doesn't bleed with the gamsol.  I've been experimenting with paper and currently I like my Stampin' Up! Whisper White paper the best.  It is sort of waxy and the pencils blend nicely on it.
I stamped out the shark and colored him in using a medium cool gray Prismacolor pencil.  I went over it with gamsol to blend out the lines and then added some shading with the same pencil.  I blended that out a little and then went over the darker parts with a black Pitt Pastel pencil and blended it out with my finger.  I used a black Prismacolor pencil for his mouth, coloring pretty hard.  I blended it out and then darkened it a bit more with the Pitt Pastel pencil.

Once the shark was colored, I diecut him out using my Tiger & Lily Die Set.  I also cut out an orange patterned paper circle using the Flower Circle Die Set and two strips of matching patterned papers.  The patterned papers are from the Hip Hip Hooray 6x6 pad by Doodlebug Designs.  I loved the colors!
Next, I put my card together.  The white card base was embossed with a cool chevron pattern.  I splattered it a little with some gray mist.  I added a panel of vellum to the center and stamped the sentiment and a couple of pretty blue waves.  I layered the patterned paper strips next and then added the circle with dimensional foam adhesive.  I added the shark with foam dots as well.  To finish it off, I added a few matte black epoxy dots to offset the sentiment.

Are you ready to check out the giveaway?  Nina will be randomly choosing from the comments on the following blogs.  Leave a comment on any of them before midnight on Sunday, July 12, 2015.  The winner will be announced on Monday, July 13, 2015.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have fun hopping along with everyone!!

A Leafy Thank You for Waffle Flower Crafts

Hi- hope you're having a great day today!  We were busy today but I have almost everything knocked off my to do list now... except for blogging and making one more card!  Luckily I saved the best for last! :)

Today I'm sharing another card I made for the Waffle Flower Crafts release!  This one features the new Leafy Stamp and Die sets- they are so pretty!

I did a little watercoloring and added some tone on tone stamping to the green and the yellow panels. I stamped the outline of the flower and then added the color with the shadow stamp to color it in.  So easy and pretty!  The inks were from the Summer and Spring Blend Ink Pads.

I love the mix of fonts on the sentiment, aren't they pretty?  I love this entire set really- it has a great mix of images and it was really fun to work with :)

A Simple Hello Card for Waffle Flower Crafts

Hi!  It's day two of release week for Waffle Flower Crafts!  Today they are showcasing some beautiful new items, including this awesome alphabet die set!  Here is what I made with the new PaperCut Alphabet Die:

I kept it simple with this card so that the dies would really stand out.  Just a watercolored strip of cardstock popped up on a tan cardbase.  The dies are large and really stand out!

Fun Summer Cards for Waffle Flower Crafts

Today I'm sharing some cards I made for the latest Waffle Flower Crafts release!  It is the most fun release yet and I'll be sharing cards all week!

Nina is featuring two awesome stamp sets and matching dies today: Willy & Friends and Tiger & Lily.  Here is what I made with the Willy & Friends Stamp Set:

Aren't monkeys cute? :)  I colored this little one and pieced a flower in her hair and lei around her neck.  I added a little sparkle around her with a few sequins.  The papers are from the Some Odd Girl Sunshine Sorbet collection.

I love pineapples so I made sure to add one down by my sentiment!  Isn't it cute with the little hearts all over it?

I decided to focus on the treasure and palm trees from the Tiger & Lily Stamp Set.  Here is my card:

I created a little beach scene and pieced my colored palm trees in around where my treasure box would be.  I stamped and colored my treasure next and then finished with the sentiment and some cute puffy heart stickers!

Make sure to pop over to the Waffle Flower Crafts Blog today and every day this week to check out the new release!  It is seriously fun!!
