Trio of Hearts Valentine

Today I'm posting a cute, quick Valentine card. I had fun making it last night. Here it is:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: A Happy Heart set
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red Craft inks; Versamark
Paper: Red Riding Hood, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette cardstock; Pink Pirouette textured card stock; Candy Lane DSP
Accessories:
Clear embossing powder, Dimensionals, Kraft taffeta ribbon

I stamped and embossed all of the hearts and cut them out. The brighter pink one is clear embossing powder on pink pirouette paper. I then dabbed some regal rose ink over the top to give it some contrast.

Well, I won't be posting much in the next month. We are moving this week into a new house then, next week I leave for a three week visit to Seattle. I'll post when I can but my normal card making will be put on hold until the end of March.

Hope you are having a great day!

A Carousel Note

I've had these Carousel notes since my first order out of the fall/winter catalog! Have I done anything with them? No! Here is my first card with them:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Flower Fancy set, Dreams Du Jour set, En Francais background
Ink: Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip classic inks; Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White cardstock, Baja Breeze Carousel Note
Accessories: Piercing tool, White Signo Gel Pen, Dimensionals, ribbon- unknown supply

I stamped the En Francais background on the Carousel note but you can barely see it in the picture. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp out my flowers and leaves- it is so handy with these 2 step stamp sets!!

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend! We have a four day here in the DC area because of the inauguration. Is this a national thing or just a local thing because no one can get to work? Just wondering...

Thanks for taking a peek today!

Valentine's Mini by Laurie

Hi! Nothing from me today... I was busy packing and cleaning my craft area and then I got sucked in to watching American Idol. I love it! Instead, I thought I'd share a cute project by Laurie, an instructor down at Scrapdoodles where I teach. These photos don't even do this book justice! It is sooo cute and well done! She used Basic Gray's Bittersweet line to makeover a neat, part chiboard and part acrylic album. There are tons of little details that she's incorporated in a way that makes it look so put together and fun at the same time. Here it is:

Laurie will be teaching this class at Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg, VA on Sunday, February 8th, 2009 at 12:30. If you are in the area, please stop by the store or give them a call at 540-548-3788 to sign up!

I am hoping to get the bulk of my mess cleaned up today so hopefully I'll be posting something new tomorrow!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Trio of Flowers

For some reason my little girl Natalie is waking up way too early this week. Today we were up at 5:45am! One thing it does give me is quiet time to stamp! Hee! I made this while she was watching some morning cartoons...

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Petal Pizazz set, Heard from the Heart set
Ink: Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip classic inks
Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Kraft card stock; Tangerine Tango textured card stock
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, piercing tool, White Signo Gel pen, Rhinestone brads, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon

Nothing too fancy on this card... Stamped the flowers and leaves onto white card stock and trimmed around them. After I punched the scallop, I crumpled it up real good before I adhered it. It really adds some texture to this card!

Hope you have a great day! I will be packing up some of my craft goodies today... we are moving in 2 weeks!

Thanks for looking!

Love You Much

Good morning! I had the best night last night! We went to Ikea for dinner and some shopping and when I got home, my new Stampin' Up! catalogs were sitting at the door! Let me tell you- AWESOME! My list of wants is already super long! Hee! Then, I get in, get the girls to bed and finally sit down to check my email. Well, more good news! I finally sent a card in to Cards Magazine (after saying for about a year that I would) and it got picked up for their June issue! Hee! Pretty good evening, wouldn't you say!!

Anyways, with such good news about cards, I wanted to make something! I decided to play along with this month's WICKED color challenge. We had to use Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, and Baja Blue. I used my new Love You much set to make this:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Love You Much set
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Blue Classic inks
Paper: Baja Blue, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, Kraft card stock; watercolor paper
Accessories: Piercing tool, Scallop Edge punch, Kraft taffeta ribbon, White Signo gel pen, Aqua Writers, Dimensionals

I stamped the hearts onto watercolor paper and colored them in using my aqua writer. After they dried, I added white details to it with the gel pen. I also colored in my 'love' with the gel pen. All the stitching is faux, also with the pen! Hee! I think it may be a new favorite tool!!

Anyways, all you demos out there should get your SUO on and play along with the WICKED challenge at Splitcoast Stampers!!

Have a great day!

A Little Something Different...

I'm not sure if I entirely like this card but I'll share anyways... After a long weekend doing inventory at my LSS, this is all I have! Here is the card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Petal Pizazz set, En Francais background, Simple Messages by Hero Arts
Ink: Rose Red, Pink Pirouette Classic Inks; Versamark, Jet Black Staz On
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive card stock, Maine Blueberry DSP, Fresh Cuts note cards
Accessories: Kraft taffeta ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Filigree Brads, Rhinestone Jewel Brads, Dimensionals, Clear embossing powder

I used the emboss resist technique on the note card, stamping with my En Francais background stamp, heat embossing, and then rubbing over it with Pink Pirouette ink. I knew what color scheme I wanted to use but the end result isn't at all what I thought it would be!

Hope your day is going well! Thanks for stopping by today!

A Coffee Drinking Monkey!

So, this card has been working its way around my head for awhile now. As soon as I saw the little mug from the Bitty Basics hostess set, I knew it was made for the Sock Monkey!! I used Kristina Werner's color challenge colors in this, too. I thought they were great this week so I had to give it a second try! Hee! Here is the card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Sock Monkey set, Bitty Basics set, Polka Dot background
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Ruby Red Classic Inks; Jet Black Staz On
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie card stock, Watercolor paper, Holiday Treasures DSP
Accessories: Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Dimensionals, Liquid Applique

The sock monkey is watercolored on watercolor paper. I kept the card simple so that he would really take center stage! I added a little foam on his coffee with liquid applique. He makes me smile!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be busy doing inventory at my favorite scrapbook store today and tomorrow but I hope you have a great weekend!!

Four Little Duckies

My cousin (and friend) Sara is having a baby any day now so I had to get going on a card for her! When I saw Kristina Werner's latest color challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Here is what she challenged us with (perfect for a baby boy, right!):

And here is the little card I came up with to congratulate Sara, her hubby Austin, and the new baby boy:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Polka Dot background, set
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip Classic inks
Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive card stock
Accessories: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig

This card opens a little funky. The Baja background piece is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2". The White wraps around it so the "front" is really not that big... Does that make sense? Easier to see in person, I think. I just wanted to go for something different!

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp out the little birdies. I think that is the only other trick I used!

Anyways, just a quick post so I could enter into the Color Challenge!

A Little Blueberry Flower Card

Today I am posting a little card I made this morning. I have almost a whole pack of the Maine Blueberry DSP left and since it is retiring, I thought I should try to use it rather then save it! Here is the little 4x4 card I made with it:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Petal Pizazz set, Dreams du Jour set
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Old Olive classic inks
Paper: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue card stock; Maine Blueberry DSP
Accessories: Paper Piercer, Signo White Gel pen, Rhinestone brads, Filigree brads, Dimensionals

I am planning to make a little set of these this week for a Hostess gift to give at my next workshop.

Oh! I almost forgot! I am excited to say that a card I made was selected as a winner in January's "Flower Fest" contest in Stampin' Up!'s Demo magazine Stampin' Success. My card and picture will be in March's issue!! I also get to pick out three new stamp sets as a prize! Pretty great if you ask me!!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by and taking a peek today!

Pink Petal Pizazz

Today is rainy and yucky outside which means that my two wonderful, adorable girls will probably turn in to monsters in about an hour... Luckily I got my cards for a swap that I participate in done last night! I think I may love my new Petal Pizazz set that will be in the new SU! catalog! I was really sad to lose my favorite large flower set (Fabulous Flowers) to the retired list last month and was hoping a new, larger set would take it's place! Sure enough, Petal Pizazz to my rescue! Hee! Here is the card I made with it last night:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Petal Pizazz set
Ink: Pink Pirouette Classic Ink, Versamark
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Regal Rose card stock; Sweet Always DSP
Accessories: Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, White embossing powder, Circle Rhinestone Brads

I embossed the smaller flower with White embossing powder. It really pops off of the Regal Rose paper!

They recently announced the retiring accessories list and I am happy to say that my most used DSP, Sweet Always made it to the new catalog! I just love this color scheme and it works with so many stamps that I have!

Well, I hope all of you have a great day! I am going to try to sneak in a a quick card before the girls go stir crazy!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Hooty Birthday Card

I thought I'd post quickly to share the birthday card I created for Grandpa Wise. In true Wise fashion, I included owls to wish him a Hooty Birthday! Here is the card:

Goodies:

Stamps: Owl Together set, Birthday Whimsy by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Really Rust Classic inks by Stampin' Up!; Jet Black Staz On
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Kraft card stock by Stampin' Up!; Patterned paper by Basic Gray- Granola Line
Accessories: Buttons by Autumn Leaves; Dimensionals by Stampin' Up!

The layout came from a sketch I found on the Taylored Expressions Blog. I had this Basic Gray paper on hand in case I needed to make a quick boy card. I am so proud of myself for not waiting until the last minute with them all this month! Now I just have to make sure I mail them on time...

Enjoy your day!

A Happy Birthday for Uncle Jason and a Nice Surprise...

When I finally turned the computer on and checked my email this morning I was surprised with 19 new messages- a lot for me in one morning! I check my email all the time (I think I'm addicted) so I never have more then 7! Today, my emails had good news! I made the top picks for last week's color challenge at Kristina Werner's blog! Hee! It definitely made my day!!

Today I am sharing a card I made for my brother in law Jason. Another one of those darn boy cards I have so much trouble with... Again, I kept it simple, relying on the patterned paper for it's coolness. Hee!

Here is the card:

Goodies:

Stamps: A Little Somethin' set, Big Deal Alphabet set, A Little Birthday Cheer set, Take a Number wheel- all by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango Classic Inks by Stampin' Up!; Versamark
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White card stock by Stampin' Up!; patterned paper part of Zach's Life (Little Yellow Bicycle) by Deja View
Accessories: Dimensionals

HB stands for Happy Birthday. I cased the idea from a card in last July's Cards magazine. Simple, right?

Anyways, hope you are having a good day! One more boy card to go!

Birthday Cards for Boys...

I absolutely LOVE my 6 nephews Logan, Layton, Bailey, Jordan, Micah, and Asher but I absolutely hate making cards for them! It seems like every card I make just has that little girlish touch that is soo hard to let go of! I end up sticking to the simple designs with barely any embellishment... they never seem to look right. So, I am apologizing now for my next few posts... 3 boy cards to go to get January's birthdays done with!

And, for today, here is Layton's birthday card:

Goodies:

Stamps: A Little Somethin' set, Birthday Whimsy set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip Classic inks by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Kraft card stock by Stampin' Up!; Patterned Paper- Zach's World (Little Yellow Bicycle) by Deja View
Accessories: Brads by Karen Foster, Dimensionals by Stampin' Up!

Here is another I did recently with bits and pieces of leftovers...

Goodies:

Stamps: A Little Somethin' set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Kiwi Kiss Classic ink by Stampin' Up!
Paper: Bashful Blue card stock; patterned paper by K & Company
Accessories: Thickers and ribbon by American Crafts, Dimensionals and Striped ribbon by Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Girly Owl Card

I love all the cute little owl stamps on the market right now! My last name is Wise so maybe it's a family thing... I made today's card for my sister-in-law's birthday later this month. Here it is:

Goodies:

Stamps: Flower Branch with Owl by Hero Arts; Birthday Whimsy set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Chocolate Chip classic ink; Cameo Coral, Pixie Pink, Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel, Lavender Lace, Apricot Appeal Marvelous Markers by Stampin' Up!; Versamagic Eggplant Dew Drop by Tsukineko
Paper: Lavender Lace, Pixie Pink, Whisper White card stock by Stampin' Up!; textured card stock by Bazzil Basics; patterned paper by Heidi Grace Designs
Accessories: Dimensionals, Scallop Edge punch by Stampin' Up!; Stickles by Ranger; ribbon- unknown supplier...

I had fun making this one so I hope my sister-in-law enjoys it! Funny thing- I had the card made except for the sentiment and couldn't decide where to put it. I got out my Stamp-a-ma-jig and used the plastic part to help me place it. Had it ready to go and then smudged it at the last minute!! Of course I had to fix it! It took me a little bit to figure out a cute way to do it but I absolutely love the way the little blurb bubble looks! I think it's even cuter now! Happy mistakes!!

Anyways, hope you have a great day!

Birthday Card for Grandma

Today is Saturday and I've got all sorts of things planned but I wanted to pop on and share the card I created for my Grandma Donna's birthday. (see mom, I didn't forget! Hee!) I used one of my favorite stamp sets by Stampin' Up, Bloomin' Beautiful. The flowers are just so much fun to watercolor! Here is the card:

Goodies:
All products by Stampin' Up! Unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful set, Upsy Daisy set
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Cameo Coral, Mellow Moss Classic inks; Jet Black Staz On
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom card stock; watercolor paper; patterned paper by Kaiser Craft
Accessories: Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, Corner Rounder punch, Paper Piercer, Crystal Effects, White Signo gel pen, Dimensionals, Aquapainter, Gold Liquid Pearls by Ranger Arts

I inked and added faux stitching around all the edges for an added touch. I also added Crystal Effects over the vase so it looks like glass. A little paper piecing and watercoloring and voila!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!
